yeah- sold in japan for awhile (toyota calaviers)... nobody bought em, lol... yeah prizm's have been corolla clones since they came out in 1990(?)... ususally they had the body bits of japaese toyota sprinter sedans... my dad company swears by them for delivery cars- theve had at least 15 of em, most get 150,000 miles out of them before they sell em off, and they have never had anything major go wrong with any of em. But yeah same motor as the corolla family (celica gt, matrix, ect..)

Toyota sells engines to GM, thats it, toyota sold the design for the stylish Cavelier to GM, also sold them the vibe design, I dont think GM technology touches Toyota cars, with the acception of the Toyota Cavalier which is made by GM and shipped to Japan. Thats why GMs are still lacking quality, and Toyota are Top quality. My info could be flauded but this is what Ive read over the years. |

This topic makes me laugh... considering who it's coming from...
The chevy Prism and toyota corolla are exactly the same except for some exterior differences. I think all of the prisms use toyota engines (4age, 4afe, etc...). There are others also... -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... I'm an artist!"
1995 AT200 Celica ST: stocked out daily driver... 1984 AE86 Corolla GT-SR5: silvertop 20V 4AGE project car jacked up with goodies... 1991 SW2x MR2 n/a: bare bones hardtop model soon to be... |

The Corolla IS a Prism, same as a Matrix IS a Vibe, same as a RAV4 is a Chevy Tracker.
General motors no longer is in the business of designing cars, they broke their pencils long ago and lost the sharpener... Look at the new GTO, the Saab 9-2, ANY Saturn is actually an Opell, The Solstice <sp?> is made from Subaru parts, GM can EAT MY ASS -------------------- -Mike

Actually, the Chevy Tracker is a Suzuki, just like the Metros were back in the day. GM doesn't buy Toyota engines, they rebadge toyota cars as their own. It's called Platform sharing. A lot of companies do it. Dodge/Mitsubishi have been and are still doing it (Talon/Eclipse/Laser). Now Daimler/Chrysler is designing the new Chryslers on their Benz's. The Crossfire is a Benz hatchback. Ford/Mazda do the same thing. Those little Mazda trucks are Ford Rangers. They say the new Taurus may be based on the Mazda6 and the new Focus may be the Mazda3. GM still designs their own cars, they just suck. i.e. the last Cavalier. |

the only saturn i know of having ANY relation to an opel is the L-series, and it only uses some suspention and possibly chassis pieces taken from the last generation vectra... the ions were SUPPOSED to be based on the new astra platform, but that was scrapped due to the fact that GM europe said the car wasnt up to european auto consumer standards. the vue is its own platform, and the coming relay is based of the old chevy venture platform. However, i think the solstice is based on gm's new global kappa platform...
