EDIT II: Tuesday, September 11th, 1300 CET.
thanks to two reasons stopping the poll sooner... Reason no.1: some people do not follow instruction and not voting as requested = lessons learnt: only public voting has sense Reason no.2: just today I noticed I forgot to add one picture set (I have used is as an example and finally forgot to list it in... what a shame). = lessons learnt: count twice (or better even more times) before submit anything... Results after four days were: Now preparing some conclusion how will final calendar look like. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT: Friday, September 7th, 1300 CET. ...here it is. Complete list of all pictures. I worked with what I had ready for printing only. Cover is clear: The featured ride Pictures are two and will be used separately (left one by the calendar, right one on own page = not as displayed below!). First picture is NON 6gc.net member so "Unknown" (creator Redsun): 1) "Unknown" The rest are 6GC.NET members: 2) Rzeski --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) Timmyface --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) Chromed --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5) Urputus --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6) UndaGrwnD --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7) malpaso --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 8) jcbass7 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9) Tigawoods --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 10) Rusty --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 11) RoyO --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 12) margo --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 13) Diegohiga --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 14) Gintaras --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 15) Cheela --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 16) gt4pl --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17) jordisonjr --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18) RedSun This post has been edited by malpaso: Sep 11, 2012 - 10:00 AM -------------------- No more replicas... just one addition that came to my mind (since I see what layout you prefer)... We may use design of page like this:
Advantage would be that I can use also posted pictures with lower resolution (placed by the calendar) so there will be for one month two cars (I believe we can fill it with what we have) and also there will be no vote out at all needed. Disadvantage is that calendar sheet is smaller (in fact half of A4 = A5 size) and not every picture is suitable to be cropped as you can see... anyway I believe I still can work with that. So this is just about if calendar size is fine four everyone... This post has been edited by malpaso: Sep 3, 2012 - 7:40 AM -------------------- No more replicas... This is evolution... What about adding a single calendar page for the overflow photos? You can use it as a credits page of sorts too, place a nice logo for yourself.

First of all, I love Timmyface's car. But his car is obviously parked in his driveway, yet photoshopped to appear as if he's driving at high speed. Looks weird to me.

He used different exposure and shutter settings on his camera. So technically the picture is untouched and an amazing photo -------------------- 6gcHeroes:808hectortimmybatmandiegotigamak |

Nice photos!! I don't see marcov's Celica? He did not have any high res pics i think... Exactly... have not received anything from him. First of all, I love Timmyface's car. But his car is obviously parked in his driveway, yet photoshopped to appear as if he's driving at high speed. Looks weird to me. fact it is "fake rolling shot" is obvious even for me (and I never been closer than 6000miles to his house in my life ). It is not important anyway. It is one of the three best shots here (IMO). Anyway. We need to discuss two important things: a) Accept or not pictures of non 6gc.net members (permission to use can give only only who made picture so there should be pictures of cars outside 6gc.net community). Is this an issue? my opinion: sure better having 6gc.net people BUT better great picture of non-member's car than ugly one of member's car. I will look on every picture for one month so better have something really nice to see there. b) What about that layout? Two sided A4 is prefred one (even just with 58%) so we can use instead huge A4 calendar sheet half for second picture and half for the sheet (see example in second post). my opinion: I understand reason why people wants double A4 (even if I prefer single page calendar). To have opportunity to make notes in calendar sheet is fine. Still believe this opportunity is not any less with A5 sized sheet = we can use every posted picture and say "thank you" to all people who wanted to participate on this calendar. Enthusiasm is so rare in those days and I would like to appreciate it. -------------------- No more replicas... This is evolution... This is SS-four :)

Also I think a full calendar instead of half the page would be best.. just my .02 -------------------- 6gcHeroes:808hectortimmybatmandiegotigamak |

I tried to do more than just draft and found this:
When half of bottom page is used for calendar grid will have 21 x 26 mm (0.8 x 1.0 inch) for each day of a month. And as I said I can use all pictures (even those great with lower resolution) When I use full A4 page size of grid will not be doubled because limitation is height. height can me maximum 1.3 inch. Reason is I need 7 rows (name of the day + 6 possible week rows because for example September 2013 will need it) and height of A4 page can not handle more. So space for everyday will be like 1.8 x 1.3 inch and looking like this in the end: I want this to be clear to not make anyone disappointed because it may not be enough. I really need to have space below (gray in the picture). So height +30% and width is double than first example. Hope it is fine. You's can choose whatever of them 3 photos i sent in, i don't mind Nearly everyone would have seen them, so just suggest one?
I also agree that it should only be 6GC Members. Some of them cars are from the Polish forum, in which they already have their own calender to get into? 3rd point. I think just stick to the 1 car per month. You could even ask people birthdays and include them in the calendar? haha Whats the grey area on the bottom needed for? -------------------- |

Seems we are close to some conclusion . 1. there will be voting to choose just 12 cars from all with sufficient resolution 2. I will allow votes also for non-members BUT will mark them clearly as non-members to make everyone to choose if picture is more than membership (or not). 3. calendar grid will have own page to have it as big as possible. That gray part is there just to highlight space I need for other months. It is not needed for December 2013 but will be for September 2013 for sure because September 7 weeks (1st of September is Sunday and 30th of September is Monday) that means one more row than December has. -------------------- No more replicas... if the sizing is a problem for the grid, you could do something like this:
Either way i don't mind Let people vote on my pics if some dont like the rolling shot one. -------------------- |

I would prefer you pick one and I will replace current one. It is your choice which one you think is the best (I just picked the most interesting one for me to the listing). Anyone else can do the same! That is why I still wait with the poll. I want everyone who shared with more than one picture has the chance to agree/disagree with the choice I made for him first. Thank you! This post has been edited by malpaso: Sep 4, 2012 - 7:04 AM -------------------- No more replicas... This is evolution... This is SS-four :)

QUOTE Also I have received from Redsun another two great shots... It proves you are great photographer and having opportunity use your great skills for 6gen Celicas. I don't think that I'm that great but I always had great fun while photographing cars... thank you for your opinion, it's an honor to me I have many, many more shots of 6gen from Celica Club Poland's summer meeting, but that's another story and yes, in fact, they're from polish Celica Club, not 6gc - still you can use them if you want, the owners said they'd be glad if it's no problem to you |
