Hey,
Has anyone got any information about the 6th gens produced in 1993? From looking around it appears they all have 3sge (making them SS-IIs) but I just want to be sure of this... i've found a cheap 1993 which i'm interested in which hopefully has a GE not an FE Thanks! -------------------- 1996 Toyota Curren

Never heard of such models.. Not sure they ''truly'' exist as mine was made in 1993 but was sold as a 1994 and it has a 5sfe.

SS-I's come with a 3sfe, these are found only in japan I believe. Yea ss-II come with 3sge 177hp from 94-95 I believe. I take it some celica's could have been produced in mid year 93 and then sold in November of 1993

Hmmm. I think what has happened is they registered 1994 SSIIs that came into the country (NZ) in late 1993 as 93's. A bit odd they appear to be all SSIIs though!

Maybe they are confused because they looked at the manufacturing label on the door jamb. My sticker says manufactured in 11/93 but its still a 94 model.

well they always release cars early, like 2013's will be available shortly. You also got to think that they have to manufacture all the preordered cars and ship them worldwide which takes months.

The model year switchover occurs on September 1 of the preceeding year -- I have a 1990 Celica which as far as I can tell was among the first 500 fifth-gen Celicas produced. It was produced in early September 1989.
Someone could easily have a Celica which was produced and purchased in 1993 which is a 1994 model year. |
