The...what? No more coilovers?

You read that right. No more coilovers for the time being. They ride stiffer than we like but mostly they've been knocking a lot and driving us nuts. I might rebuild them or I might sell them.

QUOTE (Syaoran @ Sep 5, 2012 - 1:37 PM) *
Oh ok. I've been wanting to buy poly sway bushings but there seems to be nothing certain on the size of the rear bushings. Thanks.

How are those miata endlinks working out?

I believe I went with 16mm bushings for a tight fit. I know the bar itself is 17mm. The Miata end links are great! They're a huge upgrade over the three year old AutoZone end links I had. For the price, I can't see any reason to get anything different.

That knock you never figured out, huh? Odd. Guess they may require rebuild then. I may be interested if you're selling, maybe you'd be interested in my Sportline setup?

Who said I was going to use TRD cartridges? biggrin.gif Besides, I'm still on the fence with these. I may have Koni or another company here rebuild these just to keep the TRD branding, or I may sell them and ge a set of KYB GR2's and Eibach Sportlines or a set of Megan coilovers. I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

Anyway, time for an itty bitty teeny tiny update. It was time for new tires, and Brigette and I had been looking into new wheels. We liked Enkei RP03's and Advan RCII's, but first we wanted to see what our local parts supplier had in stock. So a short trip to Rhode Island later, and we had a set of ADR Vision's, TRD front strut bar, 10 mm spacers, black carpet to match the SS-III seats, new trunk plastic, new shift boot, and some other stuff I forgot. Thanks Dustin!

While we were on the road, my new Twos R Us front sway end links came in. So today I did a very, very quick wash and took some pictures.

Fitment is infinitely better than the stockers. I'll get the 10 mm spacers put in in a couple of days.

The engine bay is filthy- I haven't cleaned it in quite some time. Forgive me. Beams Silvertop! laugh.gif laugh.gif

Twos R Us end links, installed.

Then I was thirsty, so I brewed some tea.

Between the new end links all around, poly control arm bushings, new wheels and tires, and TRD strut bar, taking corners feels awesome. Next up, get the spacers in and get new front sway bar bushings and take care of the suspension, then on to bigger and better things.

Ah, also an enjoyer of tea. Good man VB, good man. That strut bar looks good indeed, is deserving of a repaint though. The increase in grip must be nice.

As stated before, there's no more low, but I did get the new wheels from Dustin. Installed 10 mm wheel spacers all around and halfway cleaned it today then snapped a couple of pictures just to show how it'll be sitting for the winter.

We have decided to prioritize a paint job over lowering it again, so that'll be coming somewhat soon. Money's halfway there, anyway. I have gotten somewhat lazy lately, and I've found a local car club doing some pretty cool things recently (1/2JZ swapped SC 300's, 1JZ swapped 240SX's as well as an SR20 swapped 240, and they're currently dropping a 2JZ in an Infiniti G35.) I have set up an appointment with them next Monday to roll my rear fenders for when we are ready to lower it again, as well as replace my crappy rear calipers with a working set. Just bought these earlier this year.... mad.gif Then they'll be finishing up my extended BEAMS harness because I've been extra lazy with that and I haven't touched it since I pulled it off of the car. They'll be properly soldering it for me. They're doing all of this work for dirt cheap, while trying to convince me to join their club. It has membership dues but with those dues comes free use of their shop and tools... I'm torn between a great shop to work in when I need something done and being in a club called "Hostile Customs." I'll probably join, since they all seem pretty cool and have better tools and knowledge than I do.

/useless update slash thread bump.

didn't really notice the exhaust work and f1 racing flywheel you got till now.

its sounds good. Get some video's of what it sounds like with you crusing by at 50 or so. btw post it on the official custom exhaust thread...

saw that video of 15mph to 95 laugh.gif glad to see it pull nicely. are you using aluminzed steel piping for the exhaust?
