bump in desperate need of it now. only 1st, 3rd, and 5th gear work. I think my electrical tape got melted by the engine block

btw I've looked at pick your part and no celica's have popped up. I'll pay an extra $20 to whoever goes out of there way to a junkyard and finds a 94-99 5sfe celica removes the main shifter cables and ships it too me. I'll also pay for the cost of your entrance fee to the junkyard.

plz I don't want to pay $150 for just a single cable from toyota frown.gif

Let me see what I can do. They have one 6 gen at the yard by me, I just don't remember if it's stick or auto. I'll take a look tomorrow for you. How big of a deal is it to get this out? I haven't had to remove one before. Looks like they want $16 for the shifter cable at my yard.

you need 10mm, 12mm socket with a 3 inch extension to remove catalytic heatshield attached to under part of the car. . Some pliers, Philips screwdriver, and also something like end cutting pliers because you need to remove the c-clips that hold the cable in place on the transmission. The cable has to be in good shape. Its the cable that attaches directly to the bottom of the shifter. You'll need to remove the center console and plastic pieces. Along with removing both a/c and heat lines(the ones that attach to the back of the air/heat panel switch. I can get pictures of what I'm talking about if you want.

"Round numbers" means it's close enough because I didn't have the cables perfectly straight, but they were close enough.

They can't gain more than an inch, the way I had them laying.

yea the one in the picture above on the right, that the tape measure is next to thats the one I need with the plastic thingy at the end of the shift cable thanks!!
