As one of the few handful of people that has actually done a st185 to Celica harness conversion, I can tell you that you will not find any kind of how to. Why? Because the wiring conversion is far more complicated than just repinning a few plugs like is done on an st205 swap. If you take a look at your 3sgte harness, you will see that its vastly different from the Celica harness and requires major rewiring.

You basically have two options:
1. Buy the wiring books for both the st185 and the celica from Toyota, and start doing your homework on how the two harnesses differ.
2. Contact DrTweak on here and have him convert your harness. He charges about $400. That may sound steep, but once you have actually done this type of conversion you will realize its a pretty fair price.
3. Since Megasquirt is now an option for us, you could ditch both harnesses and wire up your car with that. However thats far from a simple thing and will require a lot of research on your part.

Good luck.

ty lagos for answering that for me. as it seems that im pretty screwed as far as wiring for now. i think i might as well start saving up for MSpnp
is there any 1 on here who is using or plans to use the mspnp?

or since my motor is 100% stock atm and i wont be putting to much into it for a while would it be a better opinion to have DrTweak work is magnificent mojo on those wires?

I'm building a DIYPNP at the moment (similar to the mspnp but you solder it yourself).
But the mspnp or diy pnp wouldn't really be what you would want. Something like the ms3 would be better since it allows you to ditch the 3sgte wiring harness and just build a whole new one from scratch.... but, if you're new at wiring (and it sounds like you might be) you really should just send your harness to DrTweak. Its always best to get the car running on the stock ecu when doing a swap, and then later you can always upgrade to the mspnp and have all the benefits of that.

thats what i did, got into contact with Cam from Phoenix tuning. talked to him for a bit and im going to start saving up for the conversion
only 1 way im not going to go thru them and thats if i find a shop in the city i live in that is epic at wiring. which i very highly doubt esp when it comes to imports of any kind. every 1 here does muscle or subaru. time to start saving
also have 1 question kind of off topic but...has any 1 bought a turbo upgrade from this site http://www.turbo-kits.com/celica_alltrac.html
i ask bc they say they can offer turbo upgrades on ct26 to make it the way u want.

Here is a video I made about a month or so ago specifically on repinning connectors. I can't tell you which pins to swap, you'll have to find that out.

Send it in! I had to look at wiring diagrams for a 4age 20V silvertop that was in Japanese for my conversion. Think how difficult it was to figure out color codes and what the pins did!

Good video for repin jobs, but the 2nd gen swap is not something that can be done with a repin. The two harnesses are totally different, and you basically have to use both of them to make one brand new harness.

old post of mine. but lagos is right any 2nd gen to 6gc is a nightmare for wiring. i managed to make become good friends with an owner of a shop up the street from me. i snuck my way into his heart and jedi mind tricked him into giving me the schematics (which doesnt do me any good bc his printer and info doesnt have color or color codes for teh wires so all it looks like is a bunch of lines a 2 year old would draw on paper).tweak is still the 1 to go to for swap harnesses like this tax time ill be sending mine out

MR220V did my wiring harness for my V6 swap. im an electrical engineer and i was just too lazy to do it myself. i wanted it done quicker. now that i know whats involved, i would build my own harness. i would buy the connectors, and pins, and wire and build my own harness running each plug from the ecu. once i have lengths figured out, i would loom the bunches together.
