QUOTE(lil_lissa @ Apr 3, 2006 - 4:22 PM) question for the vert guys... that black trim that goes around the windows and then where the one back brake light is... that goes the whole way around the car (does anyone get what i'm talking about), could i do this same thing to that? i got some wax on that black part awhile ago, and it won't come off, i'd like for it to be black again The guy before us said he had a place repaint the black piece that goes around behind near the convertible top, the one where the brake light is. They just taped it off and threw some black paint on there, so i guess it is possible. Maybe we could expand on this in making it a how-to. Like we could add a how to remove and replace it, or how to just paint it. Because, adding just a painting trim how-to is a pretty simple concept id hope everyone on here was capable of figuring out. Nice job either way Snap, it looks really good. -------------------- I am now a part of the ihavemorethen16gc club! |

QUOTE(JonCars17 @ Apr 6, 2006 - 5:01 AM) I just had this done to my car. I had it in the shop for a good while and asked if they would do this for me. I donno how much they charged, but I got a really good deal. For 1000, they painted my car 3l2 paint code (different color red than what I had on it), molded on the body kit (alot of work too), installed blinkers (clears), removed all badges except the Toyota logo (the "T") on the front and back, and installed new mesh. man, i live in SC to...where the crap they do all that? oh ya, and how long do you expect the spray paint to last on there? i just bought some for this, but i dont want to do it every month... thanks This post has been edited by Griff: Jun 12, 2006 - 4:09 PM -------------------- |

chrome color would fail. mask off nicely the window trim and the rest of your car and paint it with flat black paint to get the oem mint condition trims back. works well especially when your old paint job went over the trimming with overspray or poor masking.

Hi,
AS JFrost9 above mentioned, a guide to how to remove the door window trim and the side window and guttering trim would be ideal. I am prepping my car for painting and cant get the strip off the door. It slides back about an inch and the stopper comes off the end of it easily, but how does it come off? I dont want to bend it or damage it. Thanks! -------------------- |
