 Axle Rattle |

This rattle is driving me crazy. So, I'm thinking of all the things that were done to the car to figure out what can cause it. I remember one time a shop was having difficulty doing the wheel bearing on that side. I don't think they did a good job. Could that have anything to do with it? The axle shaft has some play in it between the axle bearing and the wheel when I shake it with my hand. when I put pressure on the axle half shaft with my hand the rattle stops. Does axle go into the wheel bearing? if the wheel bearing is no good, could it cause this play? CV Joint? Something needs adjustment?

No more rattle
 I asked the shop to change the axle as I was suspecting the bearing being bad. Also, I am not sure if the automatic and manual transmission axles are the same, but since I got it converted to manual, I asked to get it for the manual. They also said my axle brackets were incorrect and put in the correct ones. Now, it's nice and quiet again after a year of rattling. Thank you.

could someone please take a photo of their passenger side axle where the bracket is? Haven't found one at the junk yard. Thanks guys.
