This rattle is driving me crazy. So, I'm thinking of all the things that were done to the car to figure out what can cause it. I remember one time a shop was having difficulty doing the wheel bearing on that side. I don't think they did a good job. Could that have anything to do with it? The axle shaft has some play in it between the axle bearing and the wheel when I shake it with my hand. when I put pressure on the axle half shaft with my hand the rattle stops. Does axle go into the wheel bearing? if the wheel bearing is no good, could it cause this play? CV Joint? Something needs adjustment?

How many bolts hold the bracket against the block? I only have one on there. And on the lower part of the bracket there is a bolt hole that doesn't match up with anything. maybe you have the wrong axle bearing bracket I can't get a good photo from when I pulled one of my engines, but there are only two bolts that mount it to the block. The 3 hole on the left side doesn't get used um it should get used. i use mine i just replaced my pasenger side axle |

thank you. I had no luck at the junk yard to reference. If you ever get a chance, could you please snap a shot of it? Thanks again.

No more rattle I asked the shop to change the axle as I was suspecting the bearing being bad. Also, I am not sure if the automatic and manual transmission axles are the same, but since I got it converted to manual, I asked to get it for the manual. They also said my axle brackets were incorrect and put in the correct ones. Now, it's nice and quiet again after a year of rattling. Thank you.

Haven't been under the car yet, but once I do this week, I will take some photos to show what may have changed.
