Anyone know the best place to buy an engine? Online or anything around Louisville, Ky? I'm trying to get a 4agze for my 96 celica st. I was planning to get a 3sgte, but it seems the 4agze is cheaper and easier to swap and still get quite a bit of power. I plan to take the supercharger off and use a turbo. Whats the best kit for a 4agze?

thats still a downgrade, why would you put an old ass engine in the car? do some research and consider a V6. i bet you the cost will be close to the same

Besides it being a downgrade, isnt it illegal to swap a older motor into a newer chassis?

So what should I get a 3sgte? I don't want a v6 I just like turbos
And how much would you think it would cost to get it professionally done? So I don't have to mess with it. I want more power tho the 7afe is boring |

you dont know what you want someone else to do. You need to do some homework and reading to understand what a swap entails

I want more power tho the 7afe is boring You would have to take it to a performance shop, unless you feel like driving it to Massachusetts and having Manny (Pressure2) swap it for you (idk if he offers that anymore but he's the most capable person to do it) And I can guarantee you a performance shop will have little to no knowledge of our platform and the swap would take much longer than normal (if they want to get it done properly) The last option is to read up, and do it yourself. I trust my capabilities more than a shop, and so do alot of people on here. That way, you know what has been done -------------------- 1995 GT::::Diffusing the Situation エキサイティングカーレーシングチーム! march 2010 COTM : 6GC feature 2014 : january 2015-2016-2018 COTM |

I plan to take the supercharger off and use a turbo. Whats the best kit for a 4agze? I'm all for seeing a 4A-GZE, I just wouldn't do it myself. If anything, you should turbocharge your 7A, member hurley97 is selling a complete kit. oh i missed that part. DUH, anyways, this is not the way to do things. the money its going to cost just doesn't justify the results. just because you "turbo" a 4A, its still a 1.6L old ass engine with old ass technology. but please go ahead, start your project, and let us know who much it costs

Swaps can be done 3 ways:
1.) The easy way (You know what you are doing) 2.) The hard way( You have no clue but jump in anyway, More time and $$ invested in parts and research, along with headaches) 3.) You pay someone else who knows what they are doing ( Most expensive, but least headaches). For all that money and time your going to invest get a 7th Gen Celica GTS. At least its fast already and its a 6 speed. |

I wouldn't consider 180hp as FAST but you know. I'd rather get the 4A-GZE just out of coolness alone. It's a sweet engine. Fast, no ... but it's quick(ish), rare, and looks cool. Personally though, compared to the final cost of everything, I'd rather just have the MK1 MR2 SC for a little more. -------------------- 99 Celica GT-S

That or get a MKIII Supra Turbo. Even the stock engine can be quite good, and once you outgrow it you swap in a 2JZ-GTE.
