Cam gears look great sunny! Which cams are you running again, did you stick with stock or something with more lift?

Hi,

Catcam in belgium did some custom cams to my requirements, i bought the a whole set with springs cams and gears

> - exhaust camshaft: #3175:
> 249°@0.1mm/215°@1.0mm/10.26mm/0.56mm@-116°/vc 0.250mm

so, a little more lift then stock :-)

Hi,

there are a few reasons,

- the cams effects the engine characteristic dramatically, i wanted some that fit my aplication
- the price for the whole package was the same price as bought ready from market
- the gen.4 engine uses a different intake cam with cam position trigger on the end

do you still need the cam pos trigger with an aftermarket ECU? I thought the head was the same as the 3rd gen head...

Hi,

yes, i'am in need of the sensor, without the ecu isn't able to fire the correct cylinder 1-4 or 2-3

no, the gen.4 head differs, on the gen.3 you have just bolts for the IC bracket and on the gen.4 you have the cam position sensor mounting, that was
the reason for my custom mounting i built for the IC and engine hangar (have a look to the picture of the last EFI modification)

your ecu doesnt use a crank pos sensor? I had to make on for my engine for the ECU to know when to make the dizzy fire.

Hi,

my ecu also needs the crank sensor, the gen.4 has a different timing belt pulley on the crank which is also the triggerr wheel for the sensor which is mounted
on the oil pump

gen.3 = both cam and crank sensor is intigrated to he dizzy
gen.4 = crank on the oil pump and cam position in the head/intake cam

This is car porn and should be in a magazine haha. Terrific work. I like that you have taken your time to calculate everything and focused more on the engine rather than body mods. Can't wait to see it finished!! Also you need to upload video so I can hear this thing pur when you're all done.

Keep up the good work. thumbsup.gif

sweet deal, now where would expect to see the power band increase with these cams? probably small gains in mid range and bigger gains up top in the rpms right?

Hi,

pretty nice appraised, max. touque from latest 4000rpm up to 7500rpm

this was set years ago, and now the absolute famoused that occures to me, when borg warner released the EFR series i saw that the 6758 hit my application perfect, lol biggrin.gif

or 90% perfect, everything was around a twin entry turbo and then i got the message from BW that the small frame EFR do not use this......was not a reason to say no thumbsup.gif

a small update tomorrow......
