Hey guys,
I just went into the raceland website and I noticed they released a set of coilovers for the 7gc. I tried contacting them before but I got one of these default messages that basically said "we don't think so". However I believe that if there is enough interest on here they might consider producing them for us. I would like to read your thoughts about it. -------------------- 1993 Celica GT Coupe - sold

racelands are a very nice bang for the buck. it'd be cool if they offered a set for the 6gc.

They might not be as good as BC Racing but they're good for what they're worth and pretty much fill my needs. -------------------- 1993 Celica GT Coupe - sold

I'm too lazy to do any Googling right now, but what are some general specs for Raceland? Average price is mostly what I'm interested to know.

The ones for the 7th gen Celica go for $369.00. They lower the car between 1 to 3 inches below OEM height. It seems like the sole purpose of these are just for having an adjustable ride height. There is nothing for making them stiffer or softer, etc, etc. |

Since they are not adjustable in stiffness, I would just go for loweringsprings.

I would rather have a height adjustable setup cause if you use stock struts, they're bound to blow out pretty quick. And say if you have stock struts and want to upgrade to kyb or monroe, with lowering springs, its going to cost the same price, if not more, for the non adjustable setup

Sounds like something I would be interested in. I was thinking these would be comparable to our Megan coilovers but for that price, I'd be interested for sure. I'm not after a stiffer spring rate as I rarely push the car too hard.

Tired of the constant pops, and crinks. As someone said, the replacement of everything would be equal to a set of those. |

ha is it safe to buy? Yes. The founder of the company is credited well in Belgium, has a racing career. From the Miata guys, I have read that they are a bit bouncy and yield a slightly harsher ride than something comparable to the price/quality of a Megan set, but then again the Miata is a lighter car. The coilovers are apparently well made though. For a third or half of the price of the next best set, these are excellent value. I'm not after a stiffer spring rate as I rarely push the car too hard. ha is it safe to buy? they are really reliable. There are many vw and audis slammed w/ camber on raceland and no problem. dont want to be the debbie downer, but chances are slim. we been barking up that tree for awhile now in the scion forum after a yr or so, they are considering it... -------------------- 09 scion xd - 5spd- bbs- coilovers- exhaust- intake

I dont own a 6gc anymore, but i always find myself lurking on here and serching craigslist for a nice one to come around...but now i own a 7th gen civic and have a set of rokkor coilovers installed. Rokkor is made by raceland, difference is rokkor has slightly stiffer spring rates.
I was on tein s-techs and stock struts which eventually blew of course and wanted to just get new struts. Comparing the price of the coilovers ($369 w/3 year warranty) and decent struts ($400+ no warranty depending where buying from) coilovers were a great deal. And the ride comparision between the s-techs and the rokkors is night and day. Despite my worn strut mounts the ride is not all that harsh pretty comfortable for a daily, they handle corners well. Like the site says the height adjustment is 1-3 inches which is damn low and with a 3 year warranty can you complain? Just figured id shine some light on this for you guys, i remember how slim the aftermarket support is for the 6g.... good luck! |

I hope there's enough interest for them to make a set. @Everyone: The idea behind the racelands is basically a cleanly-done coilover conversion to your OE struts with stiffer valved dampers. You can get the same thing for about the same price in a DIY manner (A set of Eibach Ground Control Sleeves goes for ~200 and a set of KYB Adjustable Shocks, or Koni Cartridges goes for near ~ 300-400. You could get a set of ebay sleeves which are really stiff, and a set of adjustable cartridges that can handle them and have the same thing as a set of megans, minus the camber plates.
