If you're serious, jump on alltrac.net and PM alltrac101. His name is Pat and he has done a TON of research on getting that ST185 to that 210mph mile.

Who the hell cares if its streetable? If 10k rpm is what you want, build it! I can't say that I haven't thought about building a top speed car that revs out to the tune of 10k...

Good Luck!

thanks man I didn't know that forum was still active I think Im registered on there but it has real low traffic i believe...If he has a build thread I would love to imprint it to my retinas...

The whole appeal down here to the SS3 Is how damn sexy it sounds when it revs....

combine that to BOV and turbo whistle and launch control... jizzed my pants

you gotta remember something if you are not making power at 10K, then there is no point in being there. let say you reach peak torque at 7000RPMs then there is no point in going any higher except to shift and land back in the power band.

Guys are making power up and over 8800rpm with 272's, man..check out this comparison that was done forever ago.
http://blog.cj-motorsports.com/2006/08/24/...shaft-test.aspx

its got real world results with a selection of diffrent cams.

the toda 280* cams on that page are still making power @ 9100rpm.

the good thing is if ya look at the build, theres nothing crazy in it, all off the shelf parts, and all easily repeatable.

Wont the turbocharger help it breath significantly? Kind of negates the need for a crazy duration or lift youd need with an NA. Couldnt you just run the 272 you were talking about a few degrees more advanced?

yes forcing the air in will make it easier, but the more air the better.

keep in mind going to large cams like this and you will need to upgrade to 1ZZ buckets

hit up kelford cams in new zealand, they list a range of specs for the gen 3 3S-G including custom, and are very knowledgeable people. what are your factory cam specs @ 1.0mm or 0.050"

Your insane! i like it! Youll not only need almost a full on race cams, titanium valve-train, fully forged bottom end, and a pretty hefty tune. But also a turbo that will be able to keep up. If you going to go 10k rpm, you might as well shoot for 500+hp. I would also try to square out the piston travelxbore. The more square the better and the higher you can rev. Good luck.
