Hi,
I have had my celica for about 6 months now. I have noticed all my pants have wear on them where my wallet is located. I have never had this problem before with any car or any pants. I am guessing it is something to do with the way I sit down on the seat or some odd way the seat rubs while I am driving. I may swap seats or get some kind of seat cover... the seats are not the cloth type. |

I thought maybe there was something sharp catching my pants but I could find any thing. So far I have ripped 3 pairs of pants! |

Leather or cloth seat? I could see where leather might push against your wallet more than cloth, but it could also be that there is a hard spot on the seat frame that you can't feel due to the wallet. Take out your wallet, and drive a few miles.
I had a '76 MG Midget when I was 17-18, and the latch on the door frame caught my rear pocket constantly. Every pair of pants I owned had a small tear in the right rear pocket. That's what happens when you're 6'1", and try to fit in a car smaller than Mr. Bean's. |

Yeah, I looked for anything that was catching but I could not find it. They are cloth seats. The area on the driver side by the door is worn into a whole and the stuffing is showing. Maybe the stuffing is abrasive or something... Just odd, never happened with any other car I have owned.

Assuming you're keeping your wallet in the rear pocket, consider removing it before driving. There are quite a few articles online about sitting on your wallet while driving leading to back pain. By not sitting on it, you can save yourself some possible back pain in the future AND not wear your pants pockets out so fast.

I don't see how people stand having their wallet in their rear pocket. Not only is it easier for someone to steal, but when you sit down your ass isn't level now.

IDK??!! This post has been edited by trdproven: Jan 24, 2013 - 7:23 AM -------------------- 94 Celica GT

Just move your wallet to your front pocket or put it between your legs while your driving. I, personally, hate driving with my wallet in my back pocket. It's weird and uncomfortable.
