Can you post more specifications concerning the materials, i.e. size/diameter of the piping? A run to a hardware store should get me all of those items, and If I can find a spare gauge trim, I'm down to try this.

Thanks for all the compliments
Can you post more specifications concerning the materials, i.e. size/diameter of the piping? I'll measure everything next week! I just cut new glass and i'm going to install 25% light transmission film at the glass. 50% film was too dark. I'll take new pics when everything is installed This post has been edited by RoyO: Dec 26, 2009 - 1:35 PM |

25% film will make it darker than 50%. Just so you don't end up buying something and making it darker when you want it a little lighter. This turned out really well though. I'm liking it.

Thank you so much for all info! Here is result of my work
it's bit different but result is quite good anyway... here with gauges... and illuminated (red-white LEDs inside) Just glass is missing. I bought transparent 2mm thick polystyrene but it's too fragile for fabrication (cutting is horrible) so now looking for soft plastic (better cutting material) -------------------- No more replicas... I bought transparent 2mm thick polystyrene but it's too fragile for fabrication (cutting is horrible) so now looking for soft plastic (better cutting material) Well done Malpaso! Cutting the glass and installing the film is the hardest part of the job You could fill the gap between pipe and OEM frame with polyester putty... By night/ evening, the tube in the middle of my 3D console looks very cool. (plumbing reducing collars) The part in front is narrower then the part behind so you get a special effect when you look into it! I just started to produce a second one |

Only thing I would do is maybe sand the paint with 2000grit and try to polish it to give it a smoother look. -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned
