QUOTE (malpaso @ Jan 2, 2010 - 4:17 PM) *
Thank you so much for all info! Here is result of my work smile.gif

it's bit different but result is quite good anyway...

here with gauges...

and illuminated (red-white LEDs inside)

Just glass is missing. I bought transparent 2mm thick polystyrene but it's too fragile for fabrication (cutting is horrible) so now looking for soft plastic (better cutting material)

very great Job ...wow...

it's still not done, but since mine sticks out so much I had to install it to make sure it fits before I continue with the process.

the trim I used came from those door protective trims at autozone, they have them in all colors, I grab chrome so it matches with the aftermarket gauges.

I still need to add the plexiglass, smoked them and add a little idea that I have, once done I'll post more pictures.

Thanks to the OP for the ideas.

center part is 4 inches long and sides are 3 inches long, in order to install it I had to remove the steering wheel lol.

yeah, I figure the plexiglass is the hardest, but with the right tools it should be a breeze, wait to see what I have plan for it tho, I'm gonna add a little something to the plexiglass

right now I have no time to make ANY for anyone, I'm in the process of making 3 more right now, for a few friends, after those are done, if I'm offer a decent amoun of money for the labor I'll make some, the actual materials to make this one costed me just under US$10.00, because I reused a lot of stuff I had at home like paint and bondo, so US$10.00 on sand paper + plastic + glue.

I picked up an extra bezel at the junk yard the other day, hopefully in a couple weeks I'll have time to tackle making one for my car.

Anybody wants to start making a 3D speedometer console like mine?

When lights are out

I bought tinted glass (no film used, just tinted PMMA, very hard to find)
I cutted the glass. You can easily sand the flanks to make it 100% fit.
This is hardly everything you need (except paint)

Polyster putty and glue included.

I have no time to finish the console anymore, so maybe anyone else needs the stuff.
When you're interested, please send me a PM

-Roy
