Theoretically, yes. But it would probably be expensive for the engine set. I don't know the generations for the 1MZ like I know the 3S gens, but you'd probably be better off finding the same generation 1MZ with a bit more milage in a vehicle that may be a few years older.

it had 189.9 max fwhp and 186.2 max torque

and somebody correct me if i'm wrong... but i thought the 1mzfe SC was discontinued?

correct me if im wrong but I dont think they made a SC for the 3.3L (225HP)

the best i can find is the SC for 99-02 Solara (3.0L 200hp)


~263hp would be very good though..but expensive since the SC isnt cheap

I think 500 HP is an unrealistic goal. You said yourself, it's an "FE" engine. IMO, the heads just aren't designed to support 500 HP. Even if they were, Imagine the kind of forced induction you'd need, somewhere north of 20 psi which means forged internals. Injectors, standalone ecu, and the list goes on.

How would you go about getting all this power to the ground? Even if you used the MR2 LSD tranny (E153?), that's still 500 HP going to 2 wheels.

Yeah, I know it's the "fe" head, which means it would take something serious to get it that high. But if you go by liter, Manny has about 250hp for 2.2, so from a 3.0, you could expect some like 350 reasonably. But, everyone knows it doesn't always work out that way. But the reason I ask about 500hp, is because the way I think, if you can push a motor to 500hp, then lower numbers are possable and reasonable. For example the guy with the 3sgte in the mr2 thats something like 800hp. That makes me think that 400hp could be obtained reasonably. So, 250-300hp out of the 1mzfe should be okay if they are capable of 500hp. That isn't the best reasoning either, but it's how I work.

i know in theory it's feasble but what i'm wondering about putting that U151-E (5spd auto) or weither it's possible to trick the stock ECU in the case one would choose to put the E153 instead.

I must have been thinking of torque. I could swear he had more than that. So, what about 250-300hp from a 1mzfe? Is it impossible?

There are a few other expensives.

I would reccomend a nice stage 2 clutch, Light weight flywheel, LSD for SURE! torque steer is crazy.

Unless Tweak can somehow confirm this, you will have to have a aftermarket tach, because the ECU's read different Ohm levels, so you might have a reading, but it wont be correct.

Other then that I think tweak covered everything, I think he probley knows more about the swap then me, But I know a decent amount.

Tweak you also take into account the time/money expensive into the 4th motor mount?

Not really. I'd like to see the intire hp without nitrous. I just don't like the stuff much. I am baised though, and I know it can be effectively used as a good power adder.

there is this guy in mississauga w/ a TCed 1mzfe camry, a TCed b18c1 integra and a SCed 1.6EL in mississauga...

anyway, his 1mz-fe camry has 392WHP 94 camry:

yea... he's spent well over 10k on that car...

people wanted to know if you could reach 500hp and that was the highest i ever saw...


and um if you SC the 1mz-fe w/ a manual tranny, you can very likely expect 200whp @ 4-5psi
