gotcha, but was it the mix of 105 octane "race fuel" that some stations have mixed with 93 or was it c16 or anything else? states vary their octane levels and gas types i noticed. was just curious

btw, the ebay turbo may have been working so far, but if/when it does fail, it could cause catastrophic damage. I finally figured out why my 5sfe blew not too long ago. I knew that the motor had metal in it that had chewed up the pistons and cylinder walls, but I didn't know where that metal had come from until I took my turbo/manifold/downpipe assembly apart and realized that the exhaust turbine for my turbo was missing altogether, and then I realized it was all in my engine...

Its impossible for the exhaust side of your turbo to end up in your engine. Gravity and the exhaust gasses push everything out and away from the motor through the exhaust.

well, my car was boosting about 30 seconds or so before it died, so the turbo was intact at that point, then suddenly my car dies. so, either a strange coincidence that my turbo and engine blew up within seconds of each other, or one caused the other... there was metal shavings inside my engine and I can't find any other place that they could have come from. I did have a functioning EGR though, so I suppose it's possible it could've come through that.

didnt you damage the turbo when you disassembled/assembled it?

I think its awesome the 5sfte can do that! thats what happens when you have a proper sized turbo on there! not the pee shooter 26.

like i had said earlier in the thread, now what i really wanna see is how much spool can we gain by using a correctly sized compressor, instead of one of these mismatched ebay specials.

no, the one that was on my car was never taken apart, at least not by me. the one that was damged was the garrett because the housing they sent me didn't fit over the compressor wheel, but that was taken care of, they replaced the compressor wheel and bored out the housing to fit the new wheel.

god I had such terrible luck with turbos

trust me, itchys car was MUCH faster.
the 45whp diffrence, and the way itchys turbo hits was astounding... the whole car vibrating and shaking from the side exit exhaust helped too!

but yea,john.. a stock 2nd gen...hell, even a modded 2nd gen, as long as it was still on the ct-26 dont stand much of a chance VS shannons car right now.

craziest of all is there is still alot of injector left too.
im pulling out ALOT of fuel to get the curve that smooth.

Lol side exhaust, so not practical, neither are turbos out the hood, or that much power fwd. lessons learned.

I went to work and get home to all this wow I missed a lot... I dont even no what to say to be comparing me with such nice cars like itchys and mannys etc...thank you.. I cant wait to drive the car myself to see how fast it is but im thinking the tires are gonna spin a lot...If a video is made we will make sure it is all legal racing bc we don't wanna break the rules now would we

Manny we gotta make sure when Jim is done with his st205 swap that the 5sfte still beats him we cant have him owning a car thats faster then mine now can we jk

The thing I like tho is Jen and I have the to most bada$$ 5sfte celicas and were both women drivers and we get the men to do all the work.....hahahahahahaha jk I no Jen gets right in there to help and I try at least for a picture I really thank you Manny Its about time all this hard work is paying off with everything that I have been through to get a awesome car..I couldn't have done it without you as you can tell.
