ok so i just read this enitre thread....checked out your guys web site.....and like every other post on here.....holly crap manny thats crazy!!...question.... you guys used a 99 fs motor correct?....whats this difference in that to say my 94 in my gts? also that one is a long block? i am slowly learning so i unno if mine is aswell or not....my celi just rolled 293 so when i got to build im prolly gonna sorce the same motor you guys used.... i was planing on swaping the 3s head over as it flows more correct?? hav u guys done this before or no..any pointers is swell.....congrats again on a intense build....shanon im very very jealous

yes, IIRC shannons motor is a 98 or 99.
yes, it was a long block when they bought it, meaning it was the block, head, everything in them, and intake manifold, ect.

you cant just "swap a 3s head over", its a lot of custom work, and takes the 3s electronics to run it.
i have not build one myself. but there are a few members here who have.

etak, i have looked at it, but to be honest, i dont like how it sounds, and with theyre setup there is no need for it, the SSQV does the job quite nicely.

Manny I was just about to start writing but you beat me to it...Yea I have always liked the sound of the hks ssqv so I have had no interest in any other and since I have had zero problems with mine and I love the way it sounds I don't think I will be anytime soon smile.gif

I hear a lot of ppl say they get sick of hearing that chirping sound but I love it..I fall in love with it more every time I hear it...What i really love is when im following Manny's car or he is following me I get to hear it twice...now that is sweet.

Manny the 98 99 have a metal head gasket and better oil pump right isn't that the biggest difference...I think that's why Jeremy told me to go with that when I was sourcing a new 5sfe...also that it would be newer and more likely have less miles.

Noone is answering cause this is Shannon's build thread. It's considered bad form to spam someones build thread with unrelated questions. You might do better by searching and then if you can't find the answers make your own thread so as not to clutter up this one.
Not getting down on you - how would you know if you haven't been here too long wink.gif

the first time I put it in, I didn't use snap ring pliers... when I tried to take it back out though, I had no choice. I bought an assorted set of them, but that c-clip was still ridiculous! It took 2 people and over an hour of struggling to get it out...
