So the rear subframe is now in the car, all mounts are welded and it's sitting pretty. My next concern is the fuel system, I have very little room for a fuel cell under the car and I do not want it in the cab. The best location is believe will be right behind the diff and hopefully far enough away the exhaust. I will need the make a skid plate because the bottom of the cell will be just below the diff but extend 20" back. I went with a aeromotive a1000 pump and will be running 1/2" stainless fuel lines (a little overkill but i have big dreams). Interior wiring is almost complete as well, right door is set up for driver controls and the left for passenger. All that is left is extending the rear wiring (lights, wiper, fuel pump/sender) from the left hand side to the right hand side. About 30 wires to splice and extend three feet. I'll post exterior and interior pics hopefully tomorrow.

Here are some goodies going in as well:

I saw this in person, pics don't do it justice. The paint shines and the underside of the car is absolutely clean. I wish I had one lol

whoa finally! cant believe i missed this update.

I'm glad someone is doing the awd conversion after whatshisface gave up. Could you post some pictures of what you had to modify to fit the subframe? I was just replacing a vsv under my celi and it looked like the gt4 subframe could bolt into the stock location leaving only the tank to be relocated. I know that's not true so please post some more pics and show us the details!

oh and one more thing, some celicas have the whole charcoal canister/evap setup in the back right where your differential goes. Was that the case for you? and if so how did you go about routing the evap system.

Drivetrain is all good. Braced it very well so she'll be nice and stiff

Fuel cell has been modified to go under the spare tire well and maintain stock fill location.

New suspension went in as well as some 17x8 rpf1 with sticky hankook 245/45 s

Cleaning up the interior and will be adding some black recaro srd seat and takata belts, no rear seats will be in the car

Little things like gauges and jl componets will also go in this week, just need some front brake lines, build an exhaust, and a couple AN fittings left.

It's killing me that the drivetrain is done but you haven't put the seat in and gone for a drive!

wow man, followed this from the begining and that is awesome work. i would love to do something very similar to this one day.

you sir, get props.

did you make that rear subframe from scratch?

i know themadscientist made one but he never released the measurements or specs on it.

i believe JIM is now in possession of it

i would love to see this thing in person

All the rear subframe mounts were made out of steel with a plasma cutter and a mig. I have all the demensions for the mounts in CAD and I think i will be offering them for sale soon.

I'm itching to drive this thing but without front brakes and exhaust I'm kinda stuck. Maybe the weekend it will be road worthy.
