good work. Wouldnt be much of a gain for the floors since the metal is quite thick unlike your outer door skin and quarter panels.Use blockers such as rubber mats for the floors.
Another good place to dynamat is the roof if you haven't done so. Flat big surfaces are the surfaces that need dynamat the most. Rear quarters, doors (ear level) are the most "bang for buck" places to have dynamat. Regarding sealing your doors and in terms of audio. Covering those little holes alone wouldnt do anything. Correct way to do it is to cutout a mdf piece to seal up the large hole. then use dynamat on the whole inner panel. Reason for sealing is to slow down the back waves from the speaker so that it wouldnt interfere with the front of the speaker. Waves travel through objects and the inner door metal is not enough. |

^the cheapest product that you could buy that's a lot like dynamat is called peel-and-stick(roofing section) and you can get it at lowes or maybe home depot. it's about 14 dollars and you get a decent size role.

me and 2 other buddies are going in on some B-Quiet. It was on the higher side as far as ratings go, and you can get 100 sq feet for $100 off ebay, plus $25 shipping (thats the B-quiet extreme, the butyl based B-Quiet Ultimate goes for $200+$25 shipping/100 sq feet). MDF is a type of plywood, cheap, i used it to cut out speaker surounds for the 6.5" in my doors.

Hey, how'd you get these speakers up high like this? If I do the 8" sub conversion in the front doors, I'd like to do some smaller speakers like this up higher.

If I do the 8" sub conversion in the front doors, I'd like to do some smaller speakers like this up higher. That is a factory speaker. Some cars had an 8 speaker package as an option. You could certainly put a speaker there yourself but it would require some customization on your part, including cutting out a hole in the door panel. |
