well back on topic, I have the same problem with my 94 coupe. I have the stock spoiler, so it isn't the TRD/weight issue. It's gotta be a typical problem with age. I figure maybe the cable loosens up over time. I might try and tighten mine while I am doing some dash work this weekend. I'l let ya know.

I have the opposite of that problem. When I pull on the lever it sounds like a gun shot confused.gif

what about those rubber pads on each side of the lid. those might be adjustable.

i had the same problem on my car...it would unlatch but not pop. My problem was that the trim on the back was loose and would pinch the latch so it would stay closed. hope that helps. smile.gif

It would be easy to have 2 have 2 people working on it. Have one hold the release and one trying to pop it.

I just had a play with the latch this morning. There doesn't seem to be much play in it for vertical adjustment but I pushed it as low as it would go and tightened back up so it seems to be working properly now. Only time will tell if it continues though...

FOLLOW UP:
OK it's a few days later and the hatch is not releasing again. It pops but doesn't move up out of the latch far enough.
I'm wondering if, since it worked momentarily, it's actually due to something being worn. Will inspect for worn parts in the latch next time I'm working on her...
