College student, becoming certified in AutoCad and then going to major in either architecture or engineering.

If you ever have any questions devilsden97, feel free to PM or IM me anytime. smile.gif.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As for me:

I just graduated from ITT Technical Institute, in the Computer Design and Drafting program, in December. I was taught the basics of Engineering, Architectural, and Civil Drafting using Autocad, Architectural Desktop, Inventor, and other similar programs. Since January 3rd, I have been working as a Mechanical Drafter for Rogers Manufacturing Co., Inc. We produce dump bodies/trailers, and also flat beds. When hired, I was initially going to update old drawings, as this company dates back into the 1950's. I also had to learn a completely new program; DesignCAD 3000, which is about 6 years old. However, after the only other drafter (other than the Chief Engineer) passed away, I was thrown into that position. So now, I both update old drawings, and fulfill body orders by putting into a drawing, what is on paper, then giving that to the shop to produce. Also, rarely, I will produce some 3D part drawings, using Autodesk Inventor.

An example of what I do:
IPB Image

Nothing is to scale, it is just a very generalized drawing showing the guys in the shop what all is going to be included on the dump body.

It's pretty nice. Benefits are great. And it's nice to see something come in as a truck and chassis, and leave here looking like what I've drawn, ready to go to a quarry to be loaded.

Remember my credo: "Don't be a fool. Stay in school."

I think my technical name for my job is Computer/Server/SAN Technition and SAN Storage Project Lead and a few other things, I kinda do a lot of stuff at once which involved some unhealthy overtime.

Im a full time student, major mechanical engineering

on the side i do computer repair and installs/tuning on cars. so far i have done a turbo kit on a bmw, tuned a turbo prelude, several gauge installs, suspension upgrades. in the next comming weeks, 2 stage 4 installs plus tuning on WRX's, 50 trim turbo upgrade on an srt4, intake manifold and turbo upgrade on a jetta, and a crap load of work on an sc300(6spd and TT conversion). at this rate, i'll have a built motor for my WRX by the end of summer laugh.gif not bad for someone that works part time.

my buddy is opening up a shop hopefully by the end of this month. and within 4-6 months we should have his car on the cover of a magazine. after that the jobs will keep rolling in. as soon as the shop opens up im enrolling in AEM's training program to become a certified AEM EMS tuner. i already have experience with it, as well as SDS, DFI, SCT, UTEC, DTEC, SAFC, TunerCat, and SplitSecond.

hopefully in the next 2 weeks i'll be getting an AEM EMS for my wrx
