Ok I’m writing this because I keep getting PMs and stuff. I did a search and put in some useful info. Idk if this is useful to anyone but if it's not and its just taking up space then delete it smile.gif

IPB Image

Add or correct me if I’m wrong.

First off here are the part numbers:
LOWS
81014-20100 (Left)
81012-20100 (Right)

HIGHS -
81130-20050
81170-20050

Second: Where can you get them…

If you have a Toyota near you that has a parts department they can most likely get them for you. Give them the part numbers. The Toyota near me could have gotten them BUT it would have cost me more then what I paid through Toyota World.

Most people on this sight have gone through Jeff at Champion Toyota in Texas (Toyotaworld.com) the price to get them there has gone up though. Call him, its much easier to call then have to wait for an e-mail response. ( (713) 943-7010 )

Another option is to e-mail tbrd2005@gmail.com. TBRD is a e-bay seller that can get them for around 750 USD.

ebay profile: http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...-1&frm=2624

he’s a good seller I bought my JDM tails off of him.

Ok so now that you ordered the Projectors your going to need to get go to Autozone and ask for a couple of H4 connectors for the Lows. ( like $4 ) The high beams use the same connection as the stock highs.

Also while you are at Autozone get one of these
IPB Image

smile.gif your going to have to crimp the wires for the low beams. I used the smallest size which is red worked great- cost me about $ 7.00.

I’m pretty sure that the lows come with bulbs in them, mine did. If not then you can get any H1 bulb for them. (go to autobarn u get some Hella H1's for like $5 a piece.
AutoBarn) The highs use the same bulb as the stock lights.

Another option on lighting is to get a H.I.D. kit.
H.I.D. is about $300-$400 for a kit. Longer lasting bulbs, brighter bulbs.

Since the projectors are from Japan they are made for RHD cars. Kadett made a how-to to convert them to LHD here : http://www.6gc.net/index.php?action=howto&itu=142

This is also helpful : http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showto...19182&st=40

Also you can use the side-marker lights in the "accent" bulb on the low beams. Since I don’t have this done to mine I’m not positive how you do it. I think the accent lights use 194 bulbs?

Ok so now that you have everything you need. You have to take off the front bumper. It’s not hard. The hardest part is getting to the top bolts up in the fenders.

FYI: The JDM highs and Lows do NOT meet D.O.T safety regulations. In order for them to be D.O.T. approved they would have to have been offered in the U.S. to go through their regulations. Also, projectors are angled for RHD Celicas which makes the beam shoot the opposite way of regular u.s. cars.

Most of us who have them have not had a problem with the police so far (knock on wood). Most Cops dont know the difference anyway so you should be fine.

**UPDATE 3-29-07**

took a couple of pics:

In this thread there is an alternative to cutting the orig. wires:

QUOTE(jason @ Mar 29, 2007 - 5:44 PM)

dont cut!!!!!!

i just got h4 connectors, pulled the one wire out of it so it was just the 2 that i need so it looks all clean, then the other end of the pig tails i just stripped them and tinned? them (made stiff w/ solder) then just inserted into the existing 9006 harness - this way no cutting and going back to stock is still possible, plus it looks clean =) just get diff diameters of heat shrink and make it all weather proof then, im working on that now actually

took 3rd wire out
IPB Image

simple connection no cutting

you did the LHD conversion?

after reading it...I dont want to do that....too afraid to hurt the projectors

i guess alot of ppl use their projectors without that LHD conv.....how bad could it be without the conv?

I put HIDs in mine so I am not sure if this is correct. You need an H4 connector for an H1 bulb?

H1 and H4 are the same for two; H4 has an extra prong, just like the 110v American outlets. The third is used in some cases, not in others. It doesn’t matter of you get a H4 connector. The middle plug is not needed for H1.

1 thing im wondering why the connector got 3 prong and the H1 bulb only got 1 pin to plug....you plug the bulb into any of the three prong or what?

It doesn’t matter of you get a H4 connector. The middle plug is not needed for H1.

the wiring is really not as difficult as it sounds

plug the 3 prong harness in to the projector...Cut off the existing harness from your OEM lights...then crimped them using butt connectors... then electrical tape and your done.

You mean. To replace the projectors for stock? Well it took me 3 hours total to remove bumper remove stock and install projector.
But i dont know where you can get the stock US/Euro 9006 connector.

Other then that its easy work.

ok so do I need to buy a "socket" like that too (left part) in addition to the H4 connectors, or it' s the same part?

Well for me it came with the lights. My bulb is replaced by a Philips Vision Plus.

So yes if you dont have the bulb with the projectors you will also need to buy the socket. I also got the Sidelights for the projectors but for now i just used the standaard 194 bulb socket that was already in the stock light and pushed it in the projector housing.

Guess your parts dealer did not include the bulbs itself. My contact also got my the complete wiring for the JDM Tails. And the bulbs + sockets for the projectors. Only not for the highbeams since they are the same 9005 lights.

Thats why i asked where HaRv3sTeR got his lights from. Mine came from Toyota world and included the bulbs for the lows.
