What is the difference between a 7th gen, TWM and TRD short shifter?
Apart from them being made by different businesses

What is the difference between a 7th gen, TWM and TRD short shifter?
Apart from them being made by different businesses

the 7th gen and TWM short shifters are just that - short shifters. They lower the top of the shifter and reduce the throw of the shift about 60%, giving you a shorter, more precise shift all together.

info on 7th gen and TWM shifters

the TRD Quick shifter is the entire shifter assembly. It reduces the throw about 40% and the top of the knob isn't as low as the others because it is made to shift quickly and keep your hand closer to the steering wheel for better control.

info and pics of TRD Quick Shifter vs stock shifter

as for fitting a GT-Four, I have read somewhere that they do not fit in RHD Celicas, but I could be wrong. Try asking in forum at celica-club.co.uk smile.gif

Ive bought the short shifter for the celica gen. 7th, but its not good for my GT4, the problem is in the plastic clip that go in the cable of the gearbox, the short shifter for the GT4 are bigger than the 7th gen. ive modded the 7th gen short shifter but i havent tried it yet because my car is still disassemblee, but they seems to be good, i will post some pics later

Hey, i read somewhere while searching that the 7th. gen ones don't fit very well...and have some problem with the unit moving while shifting? True? I assume this is just due do a bad install since Dustin has compared side by side.
