you shouldn't run your powere wire in your doorn like that its not safe and each time you open and close your door you risk shorting out your wire just a heads up

Ran my amp power wire like that for about 10 years with never an issue [3 diff Celicas BTW]

Ghetto! Why wouldn't you run it through the firewall where it is not visible?

Cause I change my system/wires way too often to care plus it works and only i see it.
$20 says you have something equally ghetto in your car - oh wait! You'd have to actually have mods for one to be ghetto rigged;)

Why conceal it till your finished with it?

Not all of us stop with a sub or two. While that may amaze & content some people, others never stop improving, upgrading, and adding.

You'll understand when you add some things, it's an addiction. wink.gif

I just recently replaced my stereo and speakers in my '98 conv. First off, I'm 42, so I'm wasnt looking for a system that you could hear coming from a mile away or anything that would take up my whole trunk or rattle the hell out of my car. I wanted a nice sounding system that would give me the volume when I wanted it, but didnt require any visual changes/mods of the car. I originally ordered 6 1/2's for the door speakers, but once my boyfriend took the door off, he was not satisfied with putting 6's in an 8" opening. He could've fabricated a mount as well, but we went looking for an alternative instead. He hated the thought of wasting an 8" opening with 6's. So here's what we ended up with. I was unable to find full range car speakers in 8". So we got some 8" Pioneer Marine Speakers. Of course when we ordered them, we thought "they'll just pop right in, easy peasy"...not the case. Because they are marine speakers, the grill, the tweeter, everything is all encased and sealed to be waterproof. 6 hours later.... he dismantled the speakers completely. Put the speaker in the 8" opening, was able to fit the tweeter into the stock tweeter location, rewired the speakers back together, added some 3.5 Pioneers in the smaller opening(my Celica has 3 speakers in door) and voila!, I now have a system that I love!

Sweet.
Other people on here have done 8" Midbass speakers there turned backwords [Soundslut wasn't it?].
I hate to tell you tho - there are 8" Car Audio Full range speakers available - I'm just not happy with any of the brands plus I like to keep to some old favorite manufacturers when it comes to car audio [I've never killed a R-F 15" to this day - now I'll blow mine rolleyes.gif ].

Glad you guys got that sorted out.
You should add a simple small self contained sub solution [Bass tube maybe?] for that modern sound but not obnoxious in the far corner of the trunk [by the taillight].
