It's about a 5 to 65 run. I pull through first and second and into third.

This is dirty dirty.
So did you tune on your own? Is there any tuning? Considering some form of boost with my beams of no more than 5 psi.... electric powered S/C or something. So tuning at all? new dyno results? Did you really ditch the FMIC? -------------------- |

So tuning at all? new dyno results? Did you really ditch the FMIC? No tuning, just a 2bar map sensor and 315cc injectors. No new dyno results, it's somewhat embarrassing to bring the car there. Even if it made 200hp, people don't understand it only came with 110, so you just get " that's it?". I did ditch the FMIC. It's a fun setup, but it's not enough power, especially up against a 3sgte. Ben's (bsamps4) car ate mine for breakfast. I think I'm going to play with it in the winter, either rwd or awd twin charged. |

Twin charged would be fantastic, I feel like the 7A would respond really well to that. -------------------- '97 ST \ Eibach \ KYB \ Kenwood \ Alpine \ Cusco \ OEM+ [sold 10/18]

Do we need to play the highlights video aj? It seems you beat ben *cough fuel cut cough* i wonder how much more you could squeeze of your setup with a built head.

Haha, that was luck. It could make a lot more if it was a 4a head and a built bottom end, but not worth it in my opinion. |

Don't be disheartened because u were beat by a 3sgte, you have what it takes to beat a 3sgte. I'm sure that setup is capable of 250hp with tuning and intercooler and better piping, that motor and that ST car should be alot lighter than a GT/3sgte chassis so theres your advantage if you can match the power

I have a small intercooler, but it seemed to respond better without it. The 7a is no performance engine, I could do a lot more to it, but it's just a waste as far as I'm concerned. It's like polishing a piece of sh**, at the end of the day it's still a piece of sh**. I wanted to see if I could make it work and it does. But, I'm capable of building a much better car..so I'm not going to keep the thing that's holding it back in there. The next step is to make A LOT more power. The car is only for fun now, not for my daily transportation. I appreciate the feedback, good ideas, just not the direction I want to go.

The car is only for fun now, not for my daily transportation. I appreciate the feedback, good ideas, just not the direction I want to go. you went straight from aeronautical engineer to heart breaker.. i believe youve been told what im doing. fully built na 7a. read a thread on toyo nation of a 4afe powered dune buggy making 248whp na. the only thing holding it back is the head. look at the valve angels compared to f1 heads. very similar. Open them up and smooth the hot spots to make it flow, especially on the exhaust side #1 and #4. exhaust valves need to be atleast 1mm bigger with a back cut and radius job. throw some bigger lift and longer duration cams, no reason it shouldnt make 250 when blown. also read some 7age builds that are reving 9k with only arp studs on the rods. yes i agree its costly because for the same price youll have a freshly rebuilt 3s with a fmic and other bolt ons. but then again you could probably go through this forum and find 50 alone. find me one fully built na 7a or 7afze. dont get me wrong ill do a 3s in the future, but i think itd be more entertaining to have the pile of sh** we know as the 7a actually make some decent numbers. btw how much would you sell the sc setup for? Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it can't be done at all. 7ag(t or z)e can make a lot of power. I just don't think it's worth it. For you Alex, cheap. I'll pm a #.

Cool, that's always a good goal. There aren't many people that go that route.

Cool, that's always a good goal. There aren't many people that go that route. the people that do only do part of a build. most just get a 11:1 comp and leave it, getting 110-120 to the wheels. ive seen others porting, no one posted the result though. stef put cams in hers before she turboed it, it was only a 220 set, but more power was noticed throughout the rpms. im doing top to bottom. everathang. |
