My celi was lined up to be driven from Chicago to New York to rippmods to test their Supercharger for the 5sfe. They know it works, they just needed to check hood clearance. This was all happening at the end of August, and I was planning to take a road trip to New York, infact I had all my bags already packed and I was leaving the NEXT DAY.

So I called rippmods just to confirm things. Rippmods had already put me off twice. I was suppose to go end of July, then begining of August, now end of August. Once again, he said he couldn't do it. This time it was "Oh I just got back from Cali and we're in negotations to blah blah blah, expanding shop, how is begining of September?"

Being put off three times, being rather pissed off spending my time to get my car in perfect condition for them and for the road trip out there, I told him to call me or e-mail me when he could give me a definite date. Well that day never came, even three months later. I'm now persuing other methods, considering 3SGTE, Turbo, or maybe even simplier Nitrous.

I had to leave my Celi at home while I went away to college anyway. And so I haven't had much time to talk on the forums, or think about the car. One week in october, I bought it down (to University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign). And some F***er slashed my convertible top, and stole my afc. I spent the night repairing the wires and fixing the top so I could drive it home. Just recently, I got it back from insurance with the top fixed. And now I'm home on Thanksgiving break.

And for some reason, I can't update my topless-racing site because the university has that port blocked.

That sucks man, sorry to hear.

Did the AFC actually do anything for performance?

Mr Anderson, beats me to it again.

I just replied to the RIPPMODS post over on Celica.net....thinking maybe my proximity might help spark his interest. We'll see though, if i wanted to get the supercharger i would have to put some much needed bodywork on teh back burner for a while, unless that is he cut me a pretty good break.... redface.gif biggrin.gif

Yea, so I pretty much am going to have to wait until Summer to work on the car again. Illinois winters aren't exactally the warmest.

Yea, it's a noticeble loss with the AFC gone. Not that much though since I haven't had the time to tune it after adding some other modifications.

That sucks! You wouldnt think that UIUC was a dangerous place, but i went to school there too, i lived in Urbana near Goodwin and stoughton. And one sunday night i go to my car and find all four wheels gone and my car sitting on cynder blocks. i was really interested in what the supercharger did to your car, since it is basically the same as mine. Its really thier loss for loosing all our 6gc business.
