I always wanted to do a targo top on my celica, but then I realized I really wanted a supra instead.

QUOTE(Akimbo @ Mar 6, 2006 - 11:56 PM) SRT4's are nice cars. Cheap interior, but they are fast. Way more potential than a Celica. Especially for the money. But putting money into a targa-top for a 6GC would be such a waste. It's your money. way more potential, yes becaus they weigh so much less than a celica and are more aerodynamic, oh wait no they aren't |

![]() doesnt look too different from our Celi. The only difference I really see is that the Celica is much shorter than the Supra.. looks somewhat cramped but still cool. Someone shop a targa in a winged celi!! I wish I had Photoshop skills lol... or Photoshop for that matter hehehe |

How about T-Tops? It would be more structually sound, due to the bar going down the middle.
At this point you have a few choices. You could MR2 style where both glass panels touch together in the middle and when you take off the T-tops, just the structual piece shows, or you could go 300ZX style, where the middle is painted. I'm pretty sure its one of the earlier Z generations I'm thinking of, but this would probably be easier. -------------------- |

Proportions just don't look right to me. It's different with a Supra. Personally I think you'd need to cut the B pillar and move the doorline back. It still might look too squat.
And cutting out the middle of the roof.... man, forget ever doing any kind of meaningful handling. The car would be a noodle--completely for show, even if you did manage to regain some of the rigidity from reinforcement. Take a look at Rod Millens Pikes peak celica: http://www.monsterdekals.com/mikes/rally/r...llen-celica.jpg If you could proportion it like that and cut out a greater area of the roof, then it might look good. Lots of nice, subtle styling cues on that machine. |
