I recently purchased roof splitters for my Celica. Personally I think they add a nice touch of styling plus function to it and at a minimal cost.

Doesn't look bad, but i don't think it would add a whole lot of function to it.
How are they fastened?

If installed correctly at the correct angles. It reduces turbulance which means better areodynamics which is better mpg. smile.gif

It's called a vortex generator and it has a similar effect as rear wing/spoiler. Usually it's used in aeronautics, but it can also apply for cars.

They are supposed to produce cleaner air for a wing to move through, and since he does not have such (and if he did, it would not have any positive effect on FWD), I don't see how it reduces turbulence in this application. Looks neat though.

Well the OEM spoiler on pre-face lift models actually functions to keep the car in a straight line at high speed. It has function for an FF platform.

Not a big fan on the look.
And I doubt it'll have a big impact with MPG when it is already pretty decent without them for highway driving, but that's the skeptic in me, especially for a non-race-oriented car like ours.

I brought up the idea around 2008, didnt get a very warm welcome from the guys on the forum haha and never went through with it

Of course my inspiration was from the EVO vortex splitters. SARD had some splitters for sale, this was before people were making cheaper copies on ebay
