My GT4 is at the paint shop and taken apart. But we don't know how to handle all the sealing gaskets. So the gaskets on the doors and front and back"window". Did you remove the gaskets or did you paint the car with them on and just put tape on it?

First of all - if you want to make a perfect job - remove AS MUCH stuff from the car as you can. Front door "gaskets" are removible, as for the rear - you can only remove them WITH the windows, this means you need to cut out the windows. I did this on my celi, did this on Edos car, did this on Marchius car, and the result was 50x better with them removed, cuz if you dont remove them, the paint and clearcoat will peel off after some time, cuz it is imposible to sand the clear coat near the gaskets top (near the roof) cuz they are made from plastic and you can not bend them to make a way to clear coat under them...
As for rear window, if you have abilitty to remove it - make this, if not - the rubber suroundig can be lifted to resand the area under it.... I was looking at taking this trim off to paint my car, but for some reason the body shop guy told me "you might not ever be able to get the trim back on right again" is this true?

Witch trim? If you are talking about the black plastci around the windows - its not removible separatly - you can only remove it WITH the windows - this means you need to cut out the rear windows.

there is a special tool, air tool, it has a blade witch wibrates, so you just remove all the inner plastics out around the window, and you have the access to the area in witch it is glued.

on my car I took out ALL interior(seats,doorpanels,centerconsole,carpet......)and then I called the shop that replaced my windshield before and they went out to the bodyshop and removed windows there$40-$50(well worth it),and replaced them when the car was done.
taking out everything makes the car easier to paint since there is less masking and also lets you get every part of car. I've done a few on old trucks at my dads shop and and it was the same as when they did mine- they used a tool that looked like a steel cable with two handles on it, but it didn't cut anything-it just brakes the seal of the window and gasket. Then afterward they pull off the rubber gasket(s) -------------------- If anyone is missing NASCAR and it's not on Speed Channel, take a fistful of Skittles, throw them in the toilet and hit the flush handle.
