First time poster and pretty much a newb when it comes to car knowledge. I've looked at 94 and 99 front and back ends in people's profiles and I see no difference. Could someone point out what I'm missing? I plan on getting a Veilside Kit so would it cover up the "difference"?

So many things to do, so little money.

Welcome to the site! biggrin.gif

Here is the '94 and '95 front end:

And here is the '96+ front end:

As you can see, the two are quite different. The turn signals are different between the two.

Also, the front bumpers are more different than just having different turn signals. If you look at that very bottom edge, you can see how on the newer bumpers, it bulges out where the posts come down. On the '94 and '95 bumpers, it's smooth in that area.

Also, you can see from the photos above that the number of posts, and post arrangement is very different. wink.gif

Well, I was going to write that first, but I just left it in a notepad and started reading more posts. I can see the difference in the turn signals; seems minor to me. And the bulge, it'll be replaced with the Veilside Kit.. I'm guessing. Anyway, these answers are helpful because I dont even have a 6gc yet. I'm deciding what year and type of celica to get.

My dream would be a 95 convertible. I have never seen anyone on here with a convertible though, why is that? I want to atleast get 3sgte and veilside kit. Atleast.

Why 95? Lowest level convertible. 99 would be better I guess. If I dont get convertible I guess 94 hatchback is the way to go.

But again, why don't people get the convertible?

Some people have convertibles, as you can see in the members' rides section of the site. wink.gif They're a lot more rare than coupes and hatchbacks though.

I think convertibles look sweet with the Veilside kit, but I've yet to see one with a 3S-GTE swap. There was some discussion on this a week or so ago, and some people were worried that the convertible might not be rigid and reinforced enough to handle the power that a 3S-GTE delivers.

I think there's some kitted verts on this site...but yeah, nobody is sure if the convertible can handle the engine's power. I'm guessing it has to do with the torque. It'd be a nice sleeper car, but if you are positive on a swap, I'd go with a Hatch or Coupe, but hatch, since they are prettier biggrin.gif wink.gif

Oh yeah, welcome to the community. Read and learn, read and learn. SEARCH button.
