Today, after six months and four days of waiting, my car is finally finished! biggrin.gif

My mechanic swapped the AE101 4A-GE into the car, and it is awesome! Though I can't go fast in it yet due to having to break in the clutch, I can tell that it's going to be sweet once the clutch is broken in. smile.gif

The motor itself sounds amazing. It sounds so so sweet, and will only sound better once I'm able to run the car at full throttle. smile.gif I'm running just a generic filter on the end of the AFM, and for exhaust, I'm using the factory 4-2-1 header, with 2.5" crush-bent piping and no cat, and a OBX universal muffler.

As for drivability, it's very good. The light JUN flywheel took some getting used to, as you have to rev the car higher when starting from a stop, but once I got the hang of it, everything is nice. The Clutch Masters stage one clutch kit is excellent, and feels great and is not to aggressive for a street, daily-driven setup. What is really nice is how little the engine changes momentum. This is due to a solid front motor mount which hardly allows the engine to move at all. smile.gif I no longer have A/C or cruise control unfortunately though.

I have a couple hundred more miles to drive to break in the clutch, and then once that's done, I'll let you guys know how the power is. smile.gif

Tomorrow(Today, technically) I'll take some pictures and post them up here. smile.gif

Man, you should be able to break in that clutch in half a day! Drop everything you're doing and go drive EVERYWHERE you can think of!! Its worth the wait. Glad you finally got it running. If you want some ideas for intake/exhaust shoot me an email. I have lots. smile.gif

AC lines probably didnt line up, or the 7a compressor wouldnt bolt up.

he can get it to work if he really wants, it will just take some more time and money

congrats coomer, have fun with the car.

Good to hear Coomer, I bet it feels great to have your car back after not having it for so long.

And for the coment about not having A/C not being a big deal, try living in Texas

Hey Coomer, don't forget to add your name to engine swap sticky, that way the noobs will know all about it

Way to go. Can't wait to see some pics. First thing I'd do is take it to the dealer and ask them to diagnose an idle problem or something, then wait for the techs to lift the hood and smile.

coomer - if your 4age didn't come with a/c and you had it on your 7a-fe (and you have the compressor over here in b'ham).... i DO have a 4a-ge idler pulley w/ a/c bracket mount..... we could potentially mount it up and see if it will work or not....

i'm not 100% sure where it is on the 7a-fe, but on the 4a-ge it goes below the PS pump (which, on the 4a-ge is on exhaust side... not intake side)

btw.... once the clutch is broken in we'll have to go down chuckanut dr.... i'll go slow for you the first time so you can keep up tongue.gif

Congrats, now put ur name on that swapped list!

I dont have a/c or cruise either. I justify this with the fact that if you have an engine swap, why are you using cruise control! And a/c sucks power, so you dont need that either.
