On most cars I've had there is usually an adjustment screw right on top to aim. Where is the adjustment screw on our cars?

There are 2, one for up/down, one for left/right. Its a 8mm socket. Trust me on this you wont want to use a wrench.

And definitely verify which one does up/down and which one does left/right. its not all that obvious. For low beam, the one low on the outside does up/down, and the easy one on top does left/right per the shop manual, for hi-beam, its the one closest to the sight glass for up/down, and the one on the inner side for left/right And pay no attention to the marks, they are usually off anyway, book talks about pushing down the clip (rear of assembly next to the screw) and re-centering the marks when you get things adjusted,,,
One procedure I read calls for LEVEL ground, centering beam at correct height (measure height of center of headlight assembly and on surface approx 25-35 ft out, hi beams centered and low beams slightly lower than center. I wish Toyota had followed industry standards and put the alignment bumps on the lens like most any other car, then you could have it professionally done. Had my Mazda lites aligned while they had it on the Laser levelled alignment rack. Amazing difference in being able to see, even with the same bulbs. |
