What's the ballpark price for a window tint (professionally done, not the DIY sheets)?

ballpark price for hatcback cars is anywhere from $100-$175.

I had mine done 10% all around for $100 by a friend, who does professional tinting and vinyl graphics. Most shops around here in Louisiana try to rip your off and go for $175 and that's for crappy legal tint =P which I thinkl is either 25% or 35%.

they should clean the windows first, then place the roll of tint over the window, to make a perfect cut, then clean the tint, then try to place it on the glass, and have a thin smoother to move all the water and bubbles out of the tint.
that's pretty much it, best thing to do is leave your windows up for a few days, so all the water can dry out, and if any bubbles are still there the sun will dry 'em up.

yeah % is how much light comes through and how dark it is

anything below 35 or 25% is illegal if the cops bust ya, just gotta take a chance

will cops pull you over for just seeing the tint, or do you have to like do something else like speed and then they add it on to whatever you got for speeding?

they can get u just for the tint. but having a black car w/tint is not as noticeable as, say, a white car w/tint. they also like to add it on to ur speeding/whatever ticket. oh, and don't think that u can just roll down your windows and they wont notice. some will actually ask u to roll up ur window when they pull u over, just to see if its tinted frown.gif

oh yea....i did my side tint myself, 20%, $30 for 2 rolls of tint film. the back i had done by a shop because pepboys/autozone didn't sell film big enough to cover it. $40

the one thing w/ getting a professional tint job, if you choose to go w/ illegal tint, they will make you agree not to tell the cops that you got it from them. Professionals tinters don't want to get caught up w/ that.

My tint costed me $125 for 20%, which is pretty dark but looks awesome on the yellow. I ended up talking to the owner of the shop and doing a website for him which was awesome, because he likes me a lot now and he's the one who helped me get my hookup for getting my car painted.

I've also got a lifetime warranty on the tint, so even if I scratch it and it's all my fault, he'll replace it for me for free.
