As you can see in the image below, I killed my climate control unit for my car.

LOL that looks like mine when I killed it. You should just take it apart and make a new housing for it out of plexiglass and replace the lights. Thats what I did.

I took mine apart and painted parts of it red so that it would illuminate red, and now none of the lower buttons work, and that fan speed area is really dull.
