I'm wondering as to who here is running nitrous and how big of a shot. So report in. On stock 5s internals, the shot size should be around 50 maybe 70(w/ better clutch), correct?

i would only put a 50 shot on a stock engine, if you run more than that then you are risking it.

a 200 shot? That must be one built engine. Not to start crap, but I gotta call BS till I see the setup.

its a little joke that goes around here i think its best to go with a wet shot right from the beginning, and get some fuel system mods to allow for extra flow and tune-ability. -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

Lmao... someone just said he ran a 200-shot? God.. I thought everyone knew that was just a joke. From what I've heard, you can run a 50 for a while, but don't ever bother refilling it, your engine will be begging for some TLC.

Thats sad to hear. So you don't think a 5S can even handle a 50 shot?

But I wanna!
Well im thinking, nitrous makes more heat and pressure, so once the engine cools down a bit, it suld be fine for more. These nos systems are built to rn on stock engines, so i cant see why the 5S couldnt handle one. Actually im in deninal -------------------- NASA/SCCA RX-7....currently under the knife

NAWWWWWWWZZZZZZZZZ MASTER IS HERE
for very occasional use 75 will work without building the internals. for more moderate use do 50. for severe fast and furious use i suggest slapping yourself and having a spare 5sfe laying around ps im going to run a 200 shot on the last strech of my 5sfe motor, or when i get the 3sgte This post has been edited by Andason: May 2, 2004 - 10:25 PM -------------------- i am awesome

Isn't there some truly _safe_ way to use Nitrous? Aside from the explosion factor, can't you get bigger injectors and retard your timing quite a bit and be cabable of running higher amounts/more often?

i generally run a 50 shot most of the time but have changed it to 75 and 100 only shot twice at 100 (very nice) but 75 occ. and 50 is very safe just know this run 92 or higher on fuel if wet. hold the gas pedal all the way down and after 3,000 press the button. do a oil change after spraying so long. and let go of the button before shifting or pressing in the clutch. i love my wet system. and i have stock engine. but not for long. does anybody know if the venom 400 works well with nos. because i just bought one and am havin questions on it. anybody have any thing to say about the venom 400?

So you actually have to hold the button down for you to be actually spraying? No push=no spray?

if you do a Nitrous oxide setup, please use a throttle position sensor trigger, its the safest and in my opinion the best way to go, you arm and turn on the system with a switch still, but the Nitrous only goes into the engine when your at full throttle so when you shift it auto turns of and then back on no clumsy button and if anything goes wrong then your off the gass and nitrous shuts down

Your talking about a wide open throttle switch right? I already got one of those, it's a great idea. A window switch might be what else you're thinking. I don't really wanna be spraying in 1st or 2nd gear and i wanna be able to control it, so i dont waste spray on a race where i dont need it.

well you can still use the open throttle, just locate the "arming" switch where you can shift and flip it at the same time or something to that tune, so you can arm it once yuor in third..person i start to pull away in first but soon as i hit second i drop back due to our low redline so i'd actually want it in 2nd gear to do a lil catch up
