I have a black on black convertible and am buying new rims. I have it narrowed down to two choices. Please give your opinion.

Option 1. Volk TE37 in Mercury Silver. $1630 shipped.

Option 2. Enkei RS6 with center caps. $560 shipped (This price includes the center caps which are not shown).

My question, is option 1 worth $970?

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

They both look hot. I would base my decision on price. Since #2 is $560, it makes the rims that much hotter in my eyes.

to be honest I've never liked the TE37's much. obviously volks aren't built for purely aesthetic reasons but I think you are paying way too much for the name.

I am buying 16 X 7 if I get the enkei's (taller sidewall for ride comfort and winter). I am getting them at Whalen Tire with Kuhmo ASX's (205/50/16 or 225/50/15). (Whalen does not sell Pirelli's but their prices are much better than others)

If I get the Volk's, I would buy 16 x 7.5 and Pirelli P Zero Nero 225/50/16.

No votes for the Volks....interesting....

the rpm2's are like the Racing Hart C2's, C4's or the BBK's....great wheels but just too busy for my taste. I also think there is a BMW wannabe issue that I want to avoid.

I was looking at some rims also. I found a nice deal on some 18"x8. They are 5-lug, but do our 6gc have a specific offset that I need to look for? Any problems with 18's fitting or scrapping?

My 2 cents, I liked the first set of rims you have up there, but the price of the other ones are attractive.

I was looking to buy some rims yesterday and i came across the Enkeis. Look quite decent i prefer the design (Flasshed than having that ring). Since they are so chiep i would go withthe enkeis but i would get 17s.

Magic...your car is sooooo nice.......I am leaning toward the TE37's....

Tweek....8" wide rims are possible but will fit very close. There is some guy on here with 8" wide rims and a 35 mm offset. Look for a post from coomer and you can see a picture. They stick out flush with the body of the car.

Well...I thought I would update this post and let you guys know what I decided.

There is an article in a recent issue of Sports Compact Car that deals with modifying a 350Z to get a 1.0g. In that article, the author says something like:

"The biggest curse in shopping for Rims is knowing exactly what you want." They went on to buy the $2000 rims from BBK when there were probably other comparable choices for less money.

I have loved the Volk rims since I first saw them and have tried for hours to locate something that I would like as much for less money. The moral of the story, I am ordering the Volks....its only money.

- Jay.
