yes you could to answer your question, buy why would you is a better one?
7th gen comes stock n/a so its an aftermarket turbo, has less hp and isnt made for your car. 3sgte is made for a turbo, has more hp, and is made to fit in your engine bay. why go with less hp on a motor that comes stock n/a for more money then it would cost for the 3s swap? its just not sensible man |

the 2zz isn't worth the money they cost..... and they aren't the best for boost either.....

yea i think i read somewhere that the 7th gen motors compression ratio is some thing like 10.5:1 in the 1zz(GT) and like 11:1 in the 2zz(GT-S). dont quote me on the numbers but i remember thinking it would be stupid to boost a 7th gen without internal changes. besides it would be kinda pointless to go through the trouble of changing internals and turboing because it would be more money than it is worth. but N2O is always a possiblity(which can become expensive with refills). and besides you have a GT so you have about as much hp as a 7th gen GT. with the money it would take to do that swap you could change internals in your car turbo and nitrous it.

they why are there 2 street legal turbos made for the 2ZZ-GE(gt-s) engine? i thinks those new toyota engine have a lot of potental and be be boosted safelly just like many other engiines out there.. i don't get why anyone here is knocking those new engines.. if they were so bad and couldn't be boosted.. why the hell would toyota use them and make a bolt on SC for it?

they had issues for the longest time trying to make a turbo kit for the 2zz, they kept blowing engines. I don't think anyone is disputing that you can turbo a 1zz or even a 2zz but it doesn't make much sense unless you already have the engine. its very difficult to swap a 3sgte into a 7th gen or else it would be a lot more commonplace and nobody would even attempt to turbo the 2zz. |
