sure thatll fit in your car. it'd be easier on a GT though. A clip is the front end of a car. Like...windshield up. ALl peices in tact, engine, everything. That's just an engine though.

definately not $1200 though...$1500 if you're lucky. The whole point of a clip is to get everything that you would need for a swap. Without it you would have to source a bunch of little parts that might be hard to find if you dont get the clip.

Edit: That thing does't come with a wireing harness...which will run you another couple hundered at least. You're best bet would be to try and find a used one because a new one costs way to much.

That nice and clean engine isn't the one they'll be sending you. Look at the lowest pic to see what you're engine would look like. If you went to a junkyard and bought a usdm engine you would be spending around 2500 to just get a good engine. Spend a little more and get a jdm clip that way you can be fairly sure that you're not missing anything you might end up needing.

buying used engines is gambling no matter what market the engine was sold in originally

they are lieing about the power(2nd gen has 225hp, not 255hp)

it does not redline at 8krpm

it does not have 8.5:1 CR

and they only have one feedback

i would not trust them.

i wont even touch the fact that it isnt a front clip

you'll have to research this more, but i will give you the general idea :

Buy front clip (do not buy just an engine/ecu/harness) for misc. parts... you will need to do a lot more than just put the engine in the car if you expect it to work. front clip = everything from the steering column forward.

figure out your transmission. the gt-four AWD transmission is not recommended, you will be needing to use your stock GT celica transmission, or use one from a turbo'd mr-2.

Wiring.. you will need to lengthen the wiring harness. the wiring is the biggest problem with this swap.

get a better fuel pump..

you may want to rebuild the engine while it's out of the salvaged clip.

I believe that's it.. use the search function for "3sgte swap" and see what you come up with. good luck. you also might want to check out celica.net for information..

Like sinner said - do a little searching for the deep stuff. Last time I checked, read one of the stickies at the top of the Engine forum for some general direction. To sum up real quick. You'll need a full front clip - new harness - a mechnic with mad skills or a special import shop and about 5000 including the clip. I'm not bashin the swappers - in fact if I had 5000 extra monies and another car to drive, you could count me in for a ST205.

edit: a link for ya http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=10904
