WTF did he just say?

With the exhaust u've opened a bigger exhaust path, and with more exhaust flow, more compression...voila, higher boost.

If you dont already have a MBC get a Joe P for $40. And if you have one, turning it counter clockwise lowers boost.

I think the hose is the one to the wastegate. I think he means trying to get it to run stock, (You put your boost controler between the turbo and wastegate in that hose to run higher) it still runs at 10psi or more.

maybe?

sounds like a vacuum leak on the hose that connects to the wastegate actuator, causing more air to be bled from it and resulting in later opening of the wastegate.

check for a leak.

does you boost gauge show vacuum? if so, at idle does it show less(closer to 0) than usual?

Not really, I could have either done a turbo setup, or the in car computer and sound system- the sound system and stuff actually being a good 700 dollars cheaper than the turbo setup. I decided to do what I KNEW how to do first- giving me lots of time to do research on turbo parts etc. But I didn't get both, so I dont know how that makes me so much richer than him- specially when I opted for the cheaper option

if it went up a notch or two than that means there is a vacuum leak somewhere

with my ST-T, unless the ac was on, at idle it always read 20mmhg. the vacuum reading at idle should always remain the same or there is a problem in the system
