You dont want to get it THAT close. The hood does move and if you get it too close your going to be rubbing. Use the rubber that you have on there and try fitting the kit better, its not the hood its the kit.

What happened to the rubber moldings you had from the stock bumper? Also..try adjusting the screws and pushing the front bumper up.What company did you buy the bumper from?....If you notice on my car,I have no gap..and I installed it myself.

My car has had some sort of weather stripping there since I bought it... Just a line of black rubbery foam stuff between the hood and the front. I'm not sure if it's stock or not.

There should be a rubber piece, its like a tube kinda, attaches to where the top of the kit is, and its stock.
