I bought the KO Racing 2.5in Downpipe. The guys on the MR2 boards said that it is dyno proven that 2.5 is better than 3in until you get up to 300...and by that power level the ct26 will poop out so you'll have to get a different downpipe and turbo anyways. Go to KO Racing and check out their dyno charts for their 2.5in vs. stock cat and gutted cat. The links are in the description of the DP in the products listing. Or click here for the article on the 2.5in vs 3in. If you were going to make them DG I would suggest 2.5...unless you other 3s swappers are planning on getting a ct20b.

Well i have a few different options that i am thinking about...
I know for sure i can make a downpipe for way less than ko or aussie i am not sure if i want to make a few of them or not yet??? i am going to make myself one.... and see what happens. i will take some pics of the dp as i build it and you guys can tell me what you think! and by your feedback i might make a few more dp's just for the fun of it and to help a few of you guys save some $$$. i will start on the prototype soon so watch for updates dg -------------------- |

Is this going to be once piece/tig/mig welded?
Stainless? 02 sensor ports? Bolt up to stock exhaust? This post has been edited by Supersprynt: Aug 2, 2004 - 9:43 PM -------------------- |

I have read that an aftemarket downpipe will only provide a 4-5 hp gain on the stock turbo. If an aftermarket turbo is added, a new down pipe will be necessary. My question is why spend the money for a down pipe when you are running the ct-26?

by jgreening....My question is why spend the money for a down pipe when you are running the ct-26?
for one, i have an upgraded turbo. 2nd, eventually you will see that when it comes to making more power in any engine setup that..... "every little bit helps!!!" even with the stock turbo it is going to make a difference so why not buy one? i think of things like this.... (i dont smoke) but some people spend 5 bucks on a pack of cigs, and they smoke a pack a day... even more, how much does that equal in a years time?= almost 2 grand!! that is a lot! and what do you have to show for that $2000? nothing ! so why not buy parts for your car and at least have something to show for the money you spend? alltrac.net has been down now for a while and i hope it comes back up soon -------------------- |
