Is that the best place to mount your filter, down by the fender?

I have my CAI going down into the fender where the stock airbox was. There is a little plastic scoop that gets air into that little space. It is the best place for a cold air because it is closer to the ground and actually taking in cold air. Talk to 95celgt I know that he is selling custom made ones (thats where I got mine and am very satisfied) that go where I described.

The stock airbox has another box that is inside of the fender. Beleive me its there. And if you look in the grill on the very right hand side (driver side) you will see a plastic "scoop" type of thing that points the air into that compartment. I will try to post pics of where I ran mine later on tonight.
