I can't think of anyone who has done that. Why on earth would you want your antenna on a switch anyways? It'd be quite the pain in the ass to do, and you'd have to re-run wires from your stero to your antenna. I don't think it's worth the time. effort, or money.

it would only cost a few dollars to do and i want to do it because the huge rod antenna looks severely retarded, especially when im only listening to cd's. the antenna just sticks out there way too much, it is very annoying to me.

thats probably because you have the stock cd player. mine came with a tape deck so i got a pioneer deh-6500 and when the head unit is on at all, including playing cd's, the antenna is up. btw, how long would it take to get to the back of my head unit?

about five minutes. pop out the trim around the shifter unscrew the two screws from the bottom of the upper trim panel and then there are four screws that mount the cd player to the dash. super easy.

are you sure there isn;t a setting on the head unit to take th aerial down when you aren;t listening to the radio - the sony w470r fitted as standad to some uk models has this setting on which makes the aerial stay up when playing cd's - do you guys have traffic alerts over rds etc ?? it could be that. also when i wired in my new hu i mixed the power antenna wire up with the amp wire.. (colour blind) and my aerial stayed up unitl i swapped the wires over..
Most Pioneer h/u's should drop the aerial when not required. |

i did but i dont know how long that will take... i have to use my car everyday, and if it takes me long for some reason, then i will have to miss work or school the next day because my dash will be all taken apart.

rocky2006, no offence but, stop crying about it and do it. There is a "how to" written up about it and it only takes about 10 minutes. What other info do you need ?

In the how to that I posted above, it TELLS you the amount of time. You should try going to it before complaining.
