Hey all

Newbee here, having just brought my first Celica a 97 2ltr SSI been a Nissan person up till now.

I have a couple of questions for you

1) The rear parcel shelf, how is it meant to attach to the rest of the car? at present when you open the hatch it hangs off string as its meant to but it is not locked in place where it would pivot from, to me it looks like it may be missing a clip or something as I think it is impossible for the shelf to sit flat if I were to try and put the hinges into the extg holes

That was my first question, Nothing major but hey if you have the rear seats down and open the hatch the shelf slides forward

2) The gas and hatch release levers are loose, is it a mission to get at them to tighten up? I take it you need to lift up the plastic on the door sill and raise the carpet to get at them. Is there any tricks involved in getting to them?

Apart from all that I would like to say Hi, I have been looking around a site
that was for the 6G and I think I’ve found it

Catch ya

1. There are 2 clips, on on each side of the parcel shelf, they sit between the interior and the shelf.

2. To get under there yes you need to lift the door sill and carpet, are you saying they are so loose that when you pivot them up they won't trigger?

KAMiX - Thanks

Yes they are loose and wont release the gas flap unless you hold your tongue in the right position. you need to hold on to the hatch release to firm up the levers in order for the gas release to work, I think it might just be a loose bolt or something that they both piviot off.

Cheers
