ge has vvt and some difference in the intake manifold. i know for sure.

that and the gte is turboed...

Only the 99 3S-GE has vvt-i, other wise the head are the same!

this is going to sound very like, dumb out in the air, but i don't know how to word it. So, are you able to take that vvt-i head (or just whole engine) and set up the same turbo setup as the 3s-gte, except now you have vvt-i?

the 3sge is a higher compression engine, also.

VVT-i helps create a better torque curve and increases engine response... it doesn't necessarily *add* and/or increase overall horsepower...

also ther 3s-ge with vvt is going to be a lot more expsensive.. I remember just the engine selling for $2500 .. compared to a 3s-gte clip for around $2000-$2200

Yeah, that's what I thought. I also thought the 98 ss-111 had vvt-i?

I have the 3SGE engine in mine...its supposed to be 179bhp standard.
The VVt-i 3SGE engine has a red top and pushes out 200bhp standard.

So, there is a big difference in power!

98/99.....same thing depends on when it was registered!

the 3s-ge has smaller prots on the intake manifold side
due to that can't rev as high as a 3s-gte head!
