I had a Chance to pick up a wrecked MR2, which I took out the 3sgte, Tranny, and wiring harness in complete, for 1100$. I thought it was a pretty decent deal so I went with it.

I am picking up a 94 St pretty quick like and would like to swap.

I want to make between 300-350hp ( like 350 at like 20psi or so).

will this engine be able to withstand that easly?

And Ive been told I would be better going with a 3rd Gen 3sgte, but I am not tryin to make insane HP, so I hope this one will work.

Ive been talking to alot of people about this swap. I personaly dont want todo it myself or have someones "friend" do it, But I cant find a shop around here who feels like the could do it, or when talking to them they sound shady. So I am kinda at a Stand still, any thoughts or anything would be nice.

uh i dont know about the engine. but the ct-26 cant handle 20psi.. well it can but your gasses are going to be running really hot and yeah its not a good idea.

i know the 3s-gtes bottom end is iron so i would think itll hold boost pretty well. i think stock boost cut-off is like 12-14. so maybe 20psi.

read up a lot on the swap and if youve got some free time and a big garage you should do it yourself.

the 2nd gen and the 3rd gen motors are not too diffrent,
diffrences 3rd gen has a aluminum oil pan, air to water inetercooler and a steel head gasket. the rod are the same the piston are the same, the head and every thing elese is the same.

there's atleast 30 difference's between the two engines (2nd and 3rd gen's) i got a list somewhere, if i find it i'll put it in, but for the most part there the same (in strength), if you get a new turbo possible a t3/t4 then it should be able to handle around 300-325hp @18-20psi, but after that im not sure if you'll want to keep on cranking up the boast with out swapping out some internals, also i dont know if you'd want to get boost that high depending on how many miles you got on that 3sgte...

1st thing you want to do is DO YOUR OWN SWAP! if you are planning on having a 300+ celica, you better know every inch of that car, so that if anything isint running right, youll know right away.

check out www.mr2oc.com there are guys there that will tell you what type of power you can expect to make with what upgrades. normally, the 3sgte is good for about 250ish at the wheels. 350 is some serious power in a light celica, and might make the car very hard to drive.

You will need an upgraded turbo, the CT26 will not sustain that power.
You are stretching the capabilities of the stock fuel system. You will definately need a new pump the ST pump is nothing and you will need a FMU/FPR 550cc injectors.

yea i hope this isnt going to be your daily driver, cause a 325hp+++ in a 2800lbs. (just normal w/ a swap), is going to be in the low 13's - high 12's pretty easily if you can drive it and got some good tires...

Check out this site for upgrading the engine. Might have some real estate issues as it is designed for the MR2.

Thanks for the Info, I am tryin to figure out every aspect of this swap that I can, so far
Upgraded Fuel System and Injectors
FMIC
Engine Mangement
Turbo Upgrade, Poss: T3/T4 Upgrade
Full Exhaust

But this engine will be as good as a 3rd Gen swap? I want reliablity and this is gonna be my daily driver. I want to run 3-10psi daily, and be able to crank it up for the track.
