allright i got ahold of a map sensor from a guy from the mr2 boards. when i wnet to hook it up without the turbo on yet just to see if it worked.the plug fit nice, but when i went to start the car is was idleing low and jerky then it smelled pretty bad then it just shut off wtf is the deal here. i'm just getting no luck i thought it was supposed to be plug and play. ohh ya the part number of the sensor is
89420-17030 it came from a 93 mr2 turbo i'm kinda dissappointed cuz i'm so close with the 5sfte project. This post has been edited by rjbibeau: Sep 30, 2004 - 3:36 PM -------------------- |

when i tested this map sensor should i have disconnected the battery... does the ecu store the map sensor info for when it shuts off in it's memory so it uses that last reading in conjunction when the engine gets started up again......

i'm not really sure...but i'm pretty sure that the sensor can't be messed up i mean what are the odds of that happening...try it again when you put your turbo on ask other 5sfe turbo guys about this i just recently putted mines on so i only know a little here and there.
