I went to the dealer today to get the oil changed on my truck. While I was there I checked on the price of the GT4 rear strut brace, and it was $85. Is that a lot for it? I've read people getting it for about half of that.

it's a non trd part so it's $80 from the dealership, the guy who got it for $40 knows sum1 for toyota or works for toyota, i forget which.

your best bet is the $63.

Neverstop, there IS a tri-pt brace for the celi, but i believe it kills the rear seats, Cusco should be the ones who make it, but the toyota one is just a 2-pt, not like the TRD front.

it's a really simple bar btw guys, you can MAKE it if you want
it's a 1"diameter 3/16"thick bar(estimated), with two pieces welded on to latch onto the struts...

What's the non-trd gt4 part number? I can't seem to find it on that link.

What's the brace made out of? How's it look? I know getting a carbon fibre one is overkill, but I also don't want a fugly part.

No compatibility issues with any model/year of the Celica?

from the JDM part # sticky:

GT-Four Factory Rear Strut Brace - This isn't an exterior styling part, but it's a pretty rare part that is JDM.
53605-20020

I am pretty sure TRD never made a rear brace, only the front. The GT4 one was the only one used for the rear.

mr dude, that link is to a toyota dealership that you can buy the part from. Enter the part # in the "Search by OEM Part Number" option.

Yeah, on the exterior styling sticky; who'd a thunk?

No point in TRD making a rear one since Toyota makes a rear one, and all the car weight is in front.

Yeah I'll just get it from my local dealership (10 bucks more but faster, California), but I really want to know what it looks like first. Knowing Toyota, it could be plastic...

Spending 300 bucks per brace is just luney. Too bad the J-Speed, Cusco, and TRD ones are all that much.

i'll try to remember to take a pic tomorrow when i get to school i will be putting up pics of my subs and such that are for sale, and i'll just upload that at the same time(if i remember)

btw, it's black, and you have to take off the covers(obviously) to the struts, so it's a bit atrocious(sp)
