Suspension question, Pressure Plates Options

I have had problem with my suspension in the front. I dont know if i have it put together wrong or if something is just messed up. Anyone that has put there coil-overs on themselves it would be great help if you explain to me how you put the front together. I kept it exactly as it was stock and just put the coilovers on. I have ruined my pressure plates twice and it makes a weird noise. Thanks for the help!

i would check the top hat if its greased reallly good and if the sleeve on the coilover is starting to wear out. what kind of coilovers do you have? sometimes when you buy cheap coilovers the sleeve is made out of really cheap aluminum and wears out the grooves on the sleeve. just a thought i dono if it will work or not.

Just to clear up what the pressure plates are on the suspension: on the front, the top of the strut mount, the very top piece has a bearing on the bottom of it, another plate goes under that allowing them to rotate around each other. Due to the smaller size of coil over, in comparison to the HUGE stock spring, it does not seem to go together very well. The stock spring was out of the way of everything, however the coilover top hat is now placed right in the middle of everything and have ruined my pressure plates, twice. My question is do i eliminate the bearing and the bottom plate? or keep it stock(which is how i have it)??

And i have N-One coil-overs from Nopi.com...i was going to ground control but due to money i opted to get coil-overs AND new struts instead. The grooves are fine, there are no acutal problem with the coil-over or sleeve. The top hat is greased, not a lot. I have a feeling there is no help for me, I should just go TEIN.

I have found no one else with this problem so i must be doing something wrong i guess....anyone else the has installed coil overs themselves and have no problems then i would appreciate it if you could epxplain how you set up the front. thanks a lot!

did you put the rubber bushing (tan in color) in between the spring and the shaft of the shock?

i have the same problem you do, i have tried everything to get rid of it. i have regreased the bearings, welded the coilover sleeve to the shock, welded the top hat to the spring, put silicone caulk on the coilover perch, and laid an adhesive backed piece of sound deadening rubber material on the top and sides of the top hat (which is in perfect shape still). i'm lost...
